Hobo LOVES his bath!!!!! Does anyone else have a yorkie that just absolutely LOVES water and his bath???? My darling little 'Hobo' who is only 4 months old (born on Christmas Eve!) has always enjoyed his bath immensely.....i can even lay him on his back in the sink or tub.....and he just lays there! it's such a pleasure bathing him (compared to my other dogs, Dooley and Dapple) that i give him one once a week or more. i seldom need to use any shampoo on him as he stays so clean and is mostly an 'inside' dog. I'd love to hear your bathing stories!!!!:):aimeeyork |
I'm sure you know you're very lucky! lol, Rizzo acts like I'm trying to kill him everytime. Though he will go wading through dirty water, as soon as the bath starts running, so does he! lol. |
LOL!! Riley tolerates it.... He doesn't go running when I ask him if he wants a bath. He does go crazy afterward.... running around like a lightening bolt. :D |
Jeds H.A.T.E.S his bath time but he will "allow" me to do it. ;) Afterward he too will bolt around the house rubbing his face on the carpet then drag out every toy that he has  |
Jilly, my last Yorkie, hated her bath and Tibbe loves his. He stands so still and calmly, leaning into the water as I pour it over him and only moving around if I get water over his nose. He absolutely loves the warm water and the whole thing. When I ask him if he wants a bath, he starts to twirl around and will come to me to be lifted up and into the water! Unbelievable. He is the ONLY dog I have ever had that liked his bath! |

Jake had his first bath (that I gave him) a few days ago. He didn't love it but he didn't resist too much either. He did race around the house afterwards...that always makes me smile. |
Moshe hates his bath. It takes hours after for him to get back on speaking terms with me. My other two deal with it okay. Bella who is 10 years old just stands there. She doesn't enjoy it but I guess she has learned to tolerate it. Rudy Just sits there the whole time giving me this sad "why me" look. I'm not too popular on bath day. |
You are so so lucky! presto is not fun to bath. He hates it :( |
ZoE loves her bath time! I've never had a yorkie before that has. It's kinda weird. She gets her bath in the kitchen sink and on the rare occasion I hand wash dishes, she comes running all excited thinking its her bath time. |
You are very, very lucky. Just today we were bathing and Finnigan jumped out like 3 times... Gwennidyln just stands there, but doesn't particularly enjoy it. |
I don't think that Belle LOVES her bath, but she certainly doesn't mind it. She likes to turn her head and bite at the water when I'm using the sprayer to rinse off her body. She will also jump into the tub when Oliver is getting his bath. She's a silly little girl :p |
You sure are lucky!!!!!! I get Fiona in the tub, and she is moaning and groaning the ENTIRE time, as if I was killing her or something! she hates , hates, hates getting baths! but tell me why, she loves swimming in the pool, and even loves splashing around in puddles or mud!? Go Figure! :p |
Well my Chachi is an odd one. We have a stream in our backyard and he loves to run through it and just get drenched but he hates baths. It doesnt make sense |
It is all about the initial approach. Keep it fun for the get go. |
Teddi takes showers with me and she loves it. I have a mat on the bottom on the shower so she doesn't slip and she walks under the water to rinse herself off after I put on her shampoo. After I turn off the water I tell her to shake and she does. It's really cute. |
I have a bath hater as well. He gives me the "Please don't torture me mommy" look. I almost feel guilty every time. He forgives me quickly and we're back to playing. :) |
sadie hates bath day and runs and barks at me. Bentley jumps into the tub whether there is water in it or not. don't try to take a bath or you will have Bentley in the tub with you :D |

Trixie is not a bath-lover. She gets bathed in the sink and tolerates it...but she is mad when we are done. She gets the zoomies too running all over the house rubbing herself dry...she even runs upstairs and dries herself on my bed  When she's done with the zoomies, it takes her some time before she will come over to me again :( |

Kacee loves her baths after they're over with.:D |
New here, and to being a Yorkie mommy, but my Baxter, age 4 months, likes taking baths pretty much....I think it is so funny to read that so many of our little ones do the "zoomies" afterwards...EVERY time Baxter does that zipping around and rubbing on things, it makes me laugh and smile. |
rachellandsadie: OMG that is so funny about Bently!!!!! |
Maisie definitely does the zoomies. She tolerates the actual bath, but as soon as I set her down she turns into "Rocket Dog"--it is really funny to watch her race around the house. |
All of mine have HATED the dreaded B word. Like some of you, one would think I was trying to kill them. Each and every one of them has done the race around the house at top speed thing afterwards and rubbed along anything that they think might make them dry faster. LOL |
Dinky loves his bath, being wrapped up in towel, the hair dryer, running around afterward. I guess we're lucky! |
Thor born on Christmas --- one day after yours also loves bath time. However I thin I have our other dog Streach to thank for that because he looooves bath time and I put them both in at the same time the first few times and now he want to jump in the tub every time we run the water. :animal-pa |
