YT Friends?? So many of you on YT seem to be friends and I was wondering...how did you get to be so friendly. I have been on this site for over a year and it is very sad to see no PM's each time I log on. I post quite a few threads, participate in the ge's, but do not seem to make any real connection with anyone. Any advce. I know this sounds kinda lame, but I really like browsing the YT site and would love the be friendlier with other yorkie/dog owners. ;) |
Awww, I am sorry you are feeling lonely and sad while amongst so many YT family members. I have been a member since 2004 and have met a large number of YTers in person. I think that helps tie the bonds, but even in my earlier days, it was a matter of reading posts and when I felt like I had things in common yorkie(ish) and non yorkie(ish) I would send pms and many times we would exchange phone numbers and talk the hours away. |
Hi there. Where on Long Island are you- Nassau or Suffolk? |
Hello everyone Hi me and Lexi ( my yorkie ) is new here we would like to get know everyone as well |
Awww Lee - I'm sorry I haven't been friendlier. I'll be visiting L.I a lot this summer and would love to buy you a margarita! |
You might see if there is a group for your area and ask if there is a meet up. I'm new and hoping that I will hear of one in my area. |

Lissette, you are a very sweet lady! |
Awh I don't get many pm's either. But I've met a few folks here, and chatted on the phone with a few. I think as chattie's mom said, sometimes you can pm someone yourself, share a common interest that can crop up time to time on a particular thread. Also if there are meet ups in your area, that is another good idea. |
Hi, I am sorry I have not been friendly - I am actually kind of nice most the time. You can send me a friend request and I will accept it (would send you one but I have no idea how to do so). I never get PMs either, but thats okay the ones I do get I value :) |
I don't think this is lame at all. I think we all need to feel like we belong. I am a very social person. I don't hesitate to send a PM if I have a question. Maybe you could start doing that too. Just jump right in! :) I think the more you are "heard" the more people remember you. Then as you continue to post they will know who you are and it will build from there. I may be completely wrong on this. :D But I think it is a start. By the way, your furbaby is a cutie!!! |

I agree that I also don't get a lot of PMs, the occasional random one, I'm also from an area that appears to have no other active members :( I love to chat on here, I usually spend way to much time on the forums, and I think once you really get involved in conversations you start to be recognized. I like to go on the off topic forum, there is a good group of recurring posters that I ramble on about random things, also helps to get to know people. I discovered a few people my age too. Also I asked if anyone was interested in being my pen pal (I'm learning french so I found a french canadian well actually two who were happy to help), we chat about once a month, so I can practice. But I agree that in areas where there is an option to get together in person, there is a much better bond. I'll PM you :) maybe we can keep messaging back and fourth, I definitely have the gift of gab, or well on here it's the gift of type :D |

The Welcome Waggin Social Club is looking for people who would like to greet new members. We get about 30 new members a day, and we try to greet each and every one of them, but everyone is so busy, if you can just greet 5 people a day that would be wonderful! Here's a link to the club. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gro...me-waggin.html Let me know if you have any questions. By the way, most of my PM's are just "How do I decorate the profile page?" :D |
