How else can I get Daisy to take her pill?
 
I picked up a Capstar pill for her, and she needs it! She is itching like crazy.
I tried putting it in some cheese, and she spit it out!

its so tiny, so I know she can get it down at one time...but what else can I try?

I was gonna say the cheese too. You could try putting it in some peanut butter and putting it in the roof of her mouth.

Oh what's Capstar, I need something else besides benadryl for my little guy, he's driving me nutso with his itching, somedays it worst than others. I think it's definetly allergies. Did the vet give you that?

I've tried putting it inside of a snausages treat. But again, Bella will eat anything! Try putting it inside her favorite treat.

You read my mind! PB seems to always do the trick. I use chunky so they can't tell the difference between the peanuts and the pill.

hide it in cream cheese if you have it, thats how i got lexi to take her pill

Just put the pill at the very back of her tongue. Hold her mouth shut and hold her head up at the same time until you know it's down. :)

I wish I could, but she doesn't take treats! I guess being int he kennel they were never given the opportunity to have them, so she wont take them!

I just tried the peanut butter, and she spit the pill back out!!!!!! HELP!!

Capstar is for fleas, starts working in about 2-3 hours....I got it at the vet.

Capster is for fleas. If your dog has bad allergies you might want to take your dog to the vet. My dog has bad allergies the vet said alot of dogs are bad this time of year. He had to get a shot for the itching and he is on meds for the itching and an antibiotic becaause he chewed an open wound on himself. That has healed but his skin is still red.

Have you tried putting the pill in the back of her mouth, closing her mouth with your hands, then gently massage her neck so she swallows? That's the way we get Yoda to take meds...

NOT having any luck..ive tried a few times and I can't get it far enough back...then she works it back out again!!!!!!

Now she wont even come near me :( I got to get this in her and get these fleas gone!

Not sure if this will work but with Samson I just break up a treat (biscuit or something hard) into pieces and put the pill with it. He ends up eating everything out of my hand including the pill. If she won't eat out of your hand maybe just try putting it all on the floor in a little pile.

It sounds like she is scared . Hold her for a minute and reassure her. Then open her mouth and drop it down her throat and hold her mouth closed while holding her head up (as if she is looking at the ceiling). Wait until she swallows it. You can't show her that you are frustrated, just be calm and gentle....she will swallow it.

I do the same thing. It's over before they know what just went down their throat. The trick is to put it far enough back on their tongue, so the only option they have is to swallow.

I use to put the pill in little tiny peices or even powder and put it in cottage cheese thta always wroked for Cosmo, becuase he could always find the pillin what ever I gave him but not this way
