Thanks everyone! You have made me feel a lot better and given me a couple of great ideas!!!! 1. Adie's Butt picture gets famed and placed on my desk. Thanks again to Mike for thinking up that one! 2. The group photo comes back. 3. All of you have an open invitation to bombard this place with yorkies! (I'm not promising that you won't get kicked out or arrested but you ARE invited.) LOL BUT!!!! 4. I want everyone to send me photos of their big bad dh's fathers brothers sons or bf's with their yorkies. I will put ALL of them in a screen saver and let the jerks here see what real men are like! You know the saddest thing about this whole situation is that I work in a hospital. A place where employees should have caring hearts. Sigh. You all are the best! Many Many Many hugs! L |
Next time my DH is dressed to ride one of his Harley's I'll try and get a picture of him holding a couple of mine on the bike. LOL |
Feel bad for these people that they don't know what true love is, love of a yorkie that is! |
Jim...you need to send her a pic of you and Polo!!! Real men LOVE dogs. It is a shame that some of the most compassionate ones are the ones that taunt. I have all kinds of dog pics, VERY LARGE calendar, stuffed dogs and a cat on my desk...and a white flag. I surrender!!! If I can't be with my animals for the 8-9 hrs I'm at work, I need to have the visuals!!! I think you should be able to too. Good luck, wishing you the best in your situation. :luvu: |
You have to feel sorry for people who are so emotionally bereft that they cannot understand the love of an animal. Ignore people like that and their comments, they have issues that THEY need to seek help for. As others have said, come here and get the respect and support you need...this is a great community from what I have seen in my short time here. |
I couldn't imagine being so mean to someone even if I thought they were nuts. YOU ARE NOT! |
I wouldn't have taken my pictures off my desk. It's like you're ashamed of your fur babies. I would have added more. There are alot of jerks in the world who don't have any feelings for animals. I guess that's why there are so many abused animals in the world because of these morons. Thank God all my friends are animal lovers and love to hear my stories of my babies. Don't let it bother you as long as your boss is an animal person that's all that should matter to you. Those people aren't your friends or they wouldn't speak to you that way. Anyway you have YT and any time you want to talk to us about your babies we love to listen so cheer up. |

I had someone at work imply I was a hoarder and I looked her in the eyes and said I didn't know how she could say such a thing when I take better care of my pets than she does hers. Frankly, I think your coworkers saying such mean things are being BULLIES. Yep, that problem people are talking about happening to children happens in the workplace too. I honestly think you should look the person saying such things in the eye and ask them why they would say something so hateful to you. If they say they are joking, say ha, ha and resume your work. Standing up to the jerks should shut them down. The pictures, especially the butt pic are priceless. You might add a little caption to the picture that says "Kiss my...." |
Lou, i've never had to work in an environment like you do because i've always worked with dogs but if i did I wouldn't let them bother me. In fact I'd put up even more pictures of my dogs, plus make them a screen saver, and the background of my computer. some people are so ignorant and I do understand your frustration with them. Its very upsetting when other people knock what you love, even more so when what you love is a member of your family, fur or skin. I've had people say rude things about me before when I'm toting around Morgan in her carrier. I try to take the high road by ignoring them, but my big mouth usually can't help itself, and once that gets going my fingers (well one finger in particular) end up joining in the fun. |
Lou, I completely understand where you are coming from... I have been disappointed by my friends several times because of their comments. I hope you put back all of your pictures back on your desk. I just feel sad for people who don't ever get to experience the love of a dog :( |
I will start by saying I have 6 count them 6 people puppies or skin kids as ya'll call them. If someone said that I should take a gun to one of my dogs because they were very ill. I think I would tell the person "Only if you are first in line before the dog". I lost a very precious baby 5 weeks ago and my response to people being a bit cruel is probably a liiiitttle over the top. So,put your pics back! and resist the urge to flip people off that walk by your desk and make ANY comment that isn't nice. At a fabricstore cutting table once a woman with her grandchildren said "you brought a DOG in here" I am in that store almost everyday, the ladies that work there just waited. My response with a smile was " my puppy has probably had a bath more recent than your grandchildren, he is not trying to climb out of the cart or screaming in public,,,unlike your 2yr old". Sorry ya'll its kind of a soap box that I do stand on. Most of the people that I consider real friends are very tolerant of my mommy thing and my husband is grateful that I'm not having a people puppy. |
First off, I'd like to recommend the sign I saw on here just days ago & cannot find: My Yorkie Is Smarter Than Your Honor Student....and put that right on your desk! Please try not to let them bring you down, they are seriously speaking out of ignorance, IMO. And yes, you do always have a loving, compassionate bunch of people here on YT!:) Secondly, I know exactly how you feel. Some people can be sooo rude & inconsiderate. My one sister repeatedly called Princess a "dumb dog" and while that may not bother some, I had to bring it to her attention. (this was after she held the door open at my mom's for 2-3 mins. & princess ran out--duh!) Just the other day I said how I called the vet because I fed Princess some green pepper then got worried I shouldn't have (they said it was fine) but she said "what? you actually called the vet??" My response was "Yes, just like I used to call the Peds. when Jazz was little or call the pharmacist, whatev....it's no different to me. I CHOSE to buy this dog just like I CHOSE to have my child, why should I not be equally responsible for them? They are living, breathing creatures that I believe were sent into my life for a reason. |
