Sad news :( So I was planning on getting a girl yorkie as soon as my move to Texas was over. I was going to pick her up saturday but today, as we are on our road trip to TX I get a sad call from my breeder. Apparently the little girl got her leg some how stuck in the kennel and broke it very badly in several places. The vet told her the puppy would probably always be in pain and have a hard time in life so the breeder opted to humanely euthanize her. I am not upset about that, I agree I wouldnt have wanted the little baby to suffer but I just feel like I want to give up on getting a dog. I have been searching for over a year to finally find a breeder I like again and she happens to have one litter due next month but the whole point of getting a puppy now was so I could be home to train it and once I found a job so Chibi wouldnt have to be left alone. I don't know what to do anymore.....I am just sad. :( |
Please don't give up. I am so sorry for the little one. There are other breeders. If you are in TX now there are several in your state that are associated with the YTCA. Here is their link: Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club |
Still hope That is so sad :( The poor baby. What breeder were you getting her from? You can still research to find another friend for your baby! |
oh how sad. hope everything works out for you. |
I am completely sickened, that breeder could have had the little dog's leg amputated and she would have made a wonder pet for someone. Heck, the breeder could have turned her over to rescue, if she didn't want to pay the vet bills for the puppy. I'm utterly disgusted. I hope the reputable breeders on this website wouldn't agree with having had the puppy euthanized. It was totally unnecessary. Consider yourself lucky, this wasn't a decent person to get a puppy from. Who was it? |
You must be devasted, I am so sorry for you and the puppy. |
That is heartbreaking.... I'm so sorry for both you and that little baby girl :( |

Not an expert on wether on not the pup should have been euthanized, so I will decline to comment on that..but..I am so very sorry that this has happened, I am sure one will come into your life very soon. |
Oh my this is so terribly sad that the breeder did this to the pup. I know there had to be a better way of handling this. |
Oh, I am so sorry for what happened to the puppy and for your loss. You sound just sick. I know you had your heart set on that puppy and now this! Sometimes this life is so unfair and things happen that we just do not understand. Grieve for your lost baby and maybe soon one day you will feel like starting to look again. Maybe this search will go easier as I think Yorkies are pretty plentiful in Texas. |
I am so sad for you, just to know how excited you must have been and now so down. I wouldn't give up, keep looking for your baby! |

:thumbdown I am so sorry for your loss....That poor puppy! I too feel she could've had the leg amputated and a good home found for her. Euthanasia was un-necessary!! I don't think this is a good breeder and would look elsewhere for your next puppy! Don't give up, You'll find her!! Hugs to you, Jodi |
