So sorry; I know exactly how you feel. The puppy we initially picked out turned out to be very ill with liver shunt. According to the breeder, the vet recommended she be put down due to her failure to grow and thrive with numerous UTI's. So, she had the dog put down prior to us ever having picked her up. And, I have no idea if she took the proper action or not. I chose another littermate (against the advice of many on here) and she has mild liver issues as well - but not life-threatening. We love her dearly and have no regrets even though she is not completely without health issues. We were so sad and questioned our decisions as well and fate - was it meant to be or not? Turns out it was - but I had many second thoughts. I won't comment on whether or not either should have been euthanized because I just don't know what the Vet had to say. Go with your instinct. If you are having doubts ~ don't discount them. Good Luck and don't despair ~ that special puppy will find you! |
I am so sorry :( |
I just cannot imagine why a dog would need to be PTS over a broken leg other than not wanting to pay for the repair. That is just horrible and if I were you I would be looking for a new breeder. Wow! |
well I kind of wish she would have called me before making the decision, I am a vet tech and could pay for any repair and I wouldnt have discounted a 3 legged dog either but I dunno...the breeder sounded really broken up about it and she said the vet told her it was the best option so I can only assume he knew what he was talking about :( I am undecided about where I want to go from here...its just dishearting because I spent so long looking and then I found her and she was so perfect......I am just sad this happened. RIP baby girl I never knew :rbyorkie: |

I am so very sorry for your disappointing loss. I hope the right little one will come along for you. Hugs! |
life is like this, everything could happen in every second but don't let this stop you. Do whatever you want otherwise is too late and no meaning. I know how you feel, i guess everyone have this feeling like you before. Just don't give up and remember "forget today's bad and wait for tomorrow's good" New life every morning when your eyes open :) |
I am sorry.. but I have faith you will find your pup!!! You need to greave and then look for you new luv. Life can be strange at times.... Maybe there is more to the story then the breeder was telling you. It doesn't seam right to pts the pup for a broken leg.. and if the vet recommended it the break and injuries must have been very bad. I am like you.. I don't understand .. sad. |

I am sorry it did not work out for you getting this puppy. Like others that have posted it seems odd that the puppy would have had to be put to sleep. My first thought was that the breeder just did not want to put out the expense to have the pup undergo surgery if that was necessary. Now, my second thought is that the breeder just changed her mind about selling the puppy and she made up the story. Some breeders have been known to do that. How old was this puppy? Regardless of what happened I wish you the best in your move to Texas and I hope you will find a nice puppy to love once your move is complete. What part of Texas are you moving to? |
That is such a sad story!!! Poor little girl! Good luck in finding a pup. I know you will find the perfect one! Im in Texas too....where about are you moving to? |
:(:(:( My heart goes out to you..... |
Thanks for all your kind words and support, its been hard being so far away from everyone. I am moving to Irving, my bf got a great job offer so I left my job, family, and friends. As long as I have my bf and my Chibi it's ok though. I'm doing ok, though some suspitions about the breeder I found have begun to surface. I am trying not to be angry but I wish she would have called me. I would have loved to talked to the vet about my options, I mean I thought this puppy was mine. I was really looking foward to having a new pup to play with and train while I am looking for jobs. I am just hoping that everything will work out. |

One of mine broke hers in two places, complete breaks, not a minor crack...took five months to heal, but today you would never know she had a broken leg...ever. |
