My first 2 girls were like that at first, I figured trying to establish who was the alpha female. Once they got that straight, maybe 2 weeks for us, they would protect eachother, sleep together and had a mutual respect. I think alot of love and patience and show no favouritism, they will be fine. It was very kind of you to give this girl a loving home. Keep us posted. |

It will evetually be ok....just a lot of supervision and make sure that the existing pup gets served it's food first...everything first..... |
OH..I had a hard time for about 3 days with my two. I was in tears because I thought I made a huge mistake. With help from a very sweet lady here on YT, I made it through. I kept them separated for a while, the new dog Lily was kept in her xpen as she was a puppy anyhow. When Max realized that she was not a threat, he gave in. Now they love each other. |
I have four and each time I added another Yorkie to the family the first wanted no part of it. In time things changed.. here we go again, number 2 & 3 and than number 4...They now get along great. It took some time but in the end we are all one big happy family. My furbabies are 8, 6, 4 and 2 |
What a wonderful person you are for helping this little one!! Hopefully they will start to get along soon. |

My Zoe is just 16 weeks old and was doing so well, and now I feel like I've totally disrupted her calm happy life. She's anxious and snappy, and hasn't had a potty accident since the third day I got her & today she's peed on my living room rug twice today . |
We'll Help You All We Can! What a wonderful thing you did for this little Yorkie. I've read many posts that sound like yours and in time, the posts became happy and positive and had wonderful pictures of the two furbabies together. I've noticed that each new dog introduced seems to take time to adjust and so does the original dog in the home. Some become fast friends that spend lots of time together and others seem to find a mutual respect and acceptance at varying distances. I would be so worried if I were you right now, but this will pass. Many have gone before you and found success with time and patience. When you are down just think about how wonderful you were to rescue this puppy. So many members here will help you through this adjustment time. Keep the faith and know that your hard work will be rewarded with double puppy kisses before you know it! Be sure to keep posting pictures and keep us updated. |
Update :) Lil Boo is going to a great home & I'm so happy about it! It's amazing how things just fell into place to get her from a bad situation to a great one...and I was a stepping stone on her journey. She's going to a local family who lost their 3 year old yorkie, shortly after moving to a new home. They were having the furnace worked on and as the repair guy was going in & out to his truck, their yorkie got out. They've had fliers up & contacted vets, pounds, etc., but it's been a month & they've heard nothing. Their 12 yeard old daughter was devasted. The parents came to see Boo & adored her. So, they came back the next day & brought their daughter. She was literally in tears at the prospect of getting another yorkie. Boo was spayed yesterday at my vet. Worked out great for the family as the mom is a teacher & her school is on spring break this week, so mom & daughter are home with her. I told them about YT and they said they'd sign up so we'll still get to see pics of BooBear, whose name will now be BelleBooBear....Belle for short :) |
What a happy ending for this baby ...thank you so much for all you have done :) |
2 Attachment(s) It's gpnna take some time. This poor dog has been through a rough start in life and she needs time to adjust. By the way Bless you for caring about this poor baby. Have patience and I'm almost sure that things will work out down the line and you will have a gratefull loving little girl. I know Zoe must be upset about the new baby but if you keep working at it they will become friends. My friend and I have 5 dogs between us and there have been many fights but right now they are best of friends. |
What a happy ending to a wonderful story. Thank you for rescuing this neglected puppy and now making a sad little girl happy again. BelleBooBear will have a wonderful life thanks to you. |
