The rest of your post means nothing. A pure bred dog is one that will breed pure to the breed standard. That's it. Simple concept, huh? The Yorkshire Terrier standard is, and always has been, that of a blue and tan dog. Any argument otherwise is only meant to confuse those that don't know better. The same could be said for any breed that has those deliberately breeding outside the standard.

The first known parti colored yorkshire terriers were born to traditional colored yorkies. Are you saying that these show breeders were showing dogs that were not pure bred?

Also anyone can put anything the want into WIKI. the information there should not be taken too seriously.

Hey OP - Are you getting a Parti Colored Yorkie or a traditional ? Sorry if I missed it if you posted, but I refuse to read through all this .....its been done a thousand times, just gets old :rolleyes:

Either way...CONGRATS on getting your Yorkie! I know how exciting it is!!! Post pics...we will all be just as excited with you :) Oh and boy or girl????

@Breny thanks sooo much and i dont blame you for not wanting to read threw all of this.. lol.. i never inteded this thread to get this way..

but my yorkie is coming saturday.. little girl, Lucy! shes traditional colors (i dont prefer either or) i think all yorkies are beautiful.. well im pretty sure shes traditional lol with all the guidelines she might not be haha.. but shes the little one in my default.. right now shes brown and black. ughhh i cant wait.. just got home from shopping AGAIN for her... i wish someone would have told me that you become an obsessive shopper when you get a yorkie LOL

ps. your little one is ADORABLE!! is he/she still that little?

Hold on to your hat!! The shopping has just started!! Wait till you get her home, there will be no stopping you I'm sure! Soon, you'll be getting yorkie purses, yorkie socks, yorkie necklaces.. it just never stops! HAHA Welcome to the club.

ohhhh boy!!! i'm gonna be broke!! haha.. i bought her the soo much already!! i even got her a snuggie and a rain coat hahaha.. this is bad lol

It's normal. If you were expecting a skin baby you would be shopping like mad right. Same thing except this baby will be covered in fur.

My husband has put limites on me finally. I'm only allowed in petscence once a week now (SO I MAKE IT COUNT:D)

I sent my Husband a link to Greenwood with a big smiley face and all I got back was HAHAHA....I wonder if he is trying to tell me something!:(

HAHAHA! My dh would have pretended he never got the link and would pray I forgot about it and never asked! He ALWAYS tries to change the subject if I start talking dogs! :rolleyes:

this is so true.. plus i was telling my boyfriend i dont see myself having any more babies (i only have one daughter) i see myself growing old having lots of fur babies!! i was brought up with alot of pets when i was a kid, to dogs to cats, birds, fish.. and my daughter will be brought up the same way.. (maybe not the birds lol) for now im gonna keep my family this size.. but down the road i would love to own atleast 4 yorkies! haha:)

Well, congrats on the new baby and all the fun you are going to have being dictated to by a little furball, its needs and perceived wants and needs! Did you see on the news today that the pet industry has NOT suffered at all from the recession? The stores love Yorkie owners, I am sure, as we can never pass up a new thingy or two each trip. I know how excited you are and I agree that 4 Yorkies would be a very happy number to have. What a show that would be!

haha i am not suprised by the pet industry not suffering with the recession! my local pet stores have already made a pretty penny from me lol
