I saw another yorkie! OMG, I'm so excited! I saw a woman walking her Yorkie just a few blocks from my house this morning! If I wasn't on my way to an appointment, I would have stopped to talk to her! LOL Does anyone else turn into a crazy Yorkie-stalker when they see other people with Yorkies? Or am I the only crazy one? |
Yes we have one down the street. Hes a cute little thing smaller than my 2. |
Yes I saw a lady pulling out of Walmart the other day with a yorkie in the passenger seat. I stopped in my tracks and started to point at her telling my DH, "Look, she has a yorkie" Of course his response was that I need help! Oh well. We have no neighbors per say and I do get very excited when I see a little yorkie anywhere. |
Why Yes! CRAZY STALKER LADY IS NOW MY MIDDLE NAME!!! I drive my husband NUTS! LOL |
I am always pointing out other yorkies to hubby. He has started to point them out as well. I am not a person who will usually strike up conversations in a store but i did Sunday. I was in the pet section of Walmart and an older lady and I guess her dtr were looking at the products and the older one sd something about a yorkie. I piped up and sd I have a yorkie they are so great. She sd another dtr had one and we talked a few minutes. Her dtr with her finally just walked on to the next aisle while we were still talking. Yorkie fans have their own language. |
You are going to notice yorkies everywhere now. I remember when I first got one I would see them everywhere. They are always on my radar now :D |
It is just like seeing a family member - spotting another Yorkie out and about! We have one that lives across the alley and another two down the street and I LOVE when I get to spot one of these babies out and about. I watch movies and TV shows for them, too. I have officially stalked Yorkies for years now and proud to admit it!!! |
BYW, your original post still has me smiling! |
Haha! I saw one being walked the other day in my neighborhood as well! My kids were like "look mom!" It's like you don't notice pregnant people until your pregnant! Then you see them everywhere! :D |
I seen one walking down a side walk one afternoon after I got off work. Now the area I work in is not the best in town, so I was on the phone with a friend and I said OMG there is a yorkie walking down sidewalk and he looks aweful. She says go back and get him, someone probably has dropped him off, he's probably homeless. Okay stay on phone with me (cause I am in the worst area) I made a U-ee in middle of road went blasting down street to where I seen dog go down. Picture this now, the little yorkie's hair look like it had not been brushed in years and I am thinking I will have to take him/her straight to vet and groomer before I take him home. Turned corner, yorkie has went up into what looks like a vacant house and this woman must have seen me drive up and she come out of house. Her hair looked worse then the poor yorkie's. I said is this your dog, she said yea, don't know how he got out. She called him by name and he ran in house. I felt sorry for both of them, but got out of there quickly. I did tell lady where I seen him come from and he could have gotten ran over. |
My neighbor has one, but I only seen him the day she brought him home.. He's a cutie patootie.... They don't seem to be home much.. I'd like to introduce Charlie to her dog, since they are neighbors... But I never see her much. :( |
If I see anyone with a dog, big or small I go nuts..lol..But when I see someone with a yorkie..woo hoo..I turn into crazy stalker lady too..lol.. |

We refer to them as cousins. Its ok to be a little bit nuts about the breed that you love so much. You might make a life long friend,ya never know. |
I remember when I first got Buster and we were out walking. I saw a woman about a block and a 1/2 ahead walking a yorkie and a maltese rounding the corner. Well I ran with Buster to meet them only slowing down when I got close so I would not scare her with my enthusiasm. She laughed and actually said she saw us and slowed down hoping we would catch up. She was from another area of town and had come to our area for a change of view and because she had seen other Yorkies out walking and hoped she would run into them. We became walking buddies and Buster had his first friends Cody and Lexi. I always say hello to other Yorkie owners. |

I cannot believe I am getting ready to say this but...after I read your post my heart was saying I wish he got to that little one sooner before he got home. I do not know why and I can't explain it. Maybe she would have missed that little one alot or...maybe not!! Forgive me but I do not understand why I feel this way. |
Yep, and since I got on my bf's nerves pointing them out whenever we're visiting other places, he started pointing them out and telling me how much cuter they are than Rizzo... He doesn't mean it, I he just does it to bug me, lol. He has a twisted sense of humor, haha. |
It is amazing the camaraderie you feel with a total stranger just because they have the same dog as yours. It's just part of the Yorkie mystique. :D |

I must confess..." I too am a Yorkes stalker " I have no shame/LOve them To death. As far as I know there are 5 others in our subdivision and one who was a rescue who passed a few years back. Two of which are from our previous litters (Bruitus and Abby) that a friends of ours has. We stop in form time to time for a visit. Two others we see waking their owners occasionally. Of course I had to stop and say Hello.. And the fifth one Buster is a 3.7lbs little wonder who we met during our community garage sale. Fell in love with this little booger. He is now going to sire to our next litter of Yorkies. |

oh how funny.. I did almost the same with a little chi one day. I saw him on the road and followed him in my car. I finally got out and tried to catch him, then the owner came out and got mad at me. I told her how far I had followed the little guy and was going to see if there was a number on his tag. She wasn't nice. I also had to laugh, my daughter said it was a shame I have my dh walking a dog in a pink dress!! The other day we ran into a young man with a yorkie, my dh went up to him .. shook his hand and started talking all about yorkies (how to feed, harness vs collar etc) I though I was going to die laughing!!!!! But the worst was the lady we saw walking a yorkie.. we pulled over to show her Remy... she acted like we were nuts. embarrassing.! |
I live in a small to average sized neighborhood, not real big at all. On my street alone there are 4 Yorkies including mine. Then, I know of another house that has 2. And the other day I saw someone else walking a Yorkie. So, that makes 7 that I know of! So cool! |

I'm soooo glad I found this post!!! I thought I was nuts! I have been a yorkie owner since the end of January and ever since then I totally stalk people with yorkies... the first time I ran down the street holding him so I could meet up with new neighbors with their yorkie "Jags"... and just today I pulled over when I saw someone walking a yorkie in a friends neighborhood.... I had to pull out a picture on my phone so she could see my Oliver. Hmmmmmm... no wonder I'm single!!! :p |
I wish I could be a Yorkie Stalker. I have not seen another Yorkie anywhere as yet. Maybe when the weather gets warmer. WE have a dog park in our town and before it was moved it had a section for small dogs, but no longer. Those of you that have play dates and other Yorkies are very lucky. My husband went with me to a meetup for small dogs, but it was an hour away and not worth it. |
Love of Yorkies! I've always been drawn to Yorkies. Even before I got Calleigh. I guess there is just something about them that is magnetic. Just think how often people have stopped to admire your little one. I think owning one makes us want to talk to other people that have them too. It's almost like a club or something.:) |
I have to say, I was kind of hoping the Yorkie owner was on YT... just in case, I saw you on the corner of Butler and Lincoln. :D The weather here is too gloomy to stalk today. It's good to know I'm not alone, though. |

I did this at Petsmart earlier this week. We stopped to buy some supplies on the way home from being at Riley's vet appt and ran into a lady in there walking this sweetest little yorkie girl on a harness in the store. I had to stop and gush over her and tell her about Riley. She was really nice, then a few aisles over I saw a lady buying RC YT dog food and had to talk to her too lol. She didn't even have her pup with her but I saw her buy the Yorkie food so I had to talk. DH thinks I have lost it, nice to know it is common LOL. |
Well my friends have two gorgeous girls, the woman across the street has little Lola and some people down the road have Mylo, we have a Yorkie Fest on the lawn when they all get together it's awesome |
