Your Yorkie's bark: soprano, baritone or bass? Max is a soprano and Teddy is a bass. Makes no sense to me. Based on their physical build and their personalities, it should be the other way around. Max barks effortlessly, but Teddy puts his whole body into it, reaching deep into his gut. :p How would you characterize your Yorkie's barking style? |
Niko the Mini Rott Niko puts his doggy soul into his bark... The first time he barked we thought it was the neighbors dog coming closer LOL. Turns out we have a mini Rottweiler trapped in a yorkie body! It's amazing though because he mouth barely moves but he can hit tenor/ baritone really easily. Did I mention its LOUD, no I mean REALLY LOUD! |
That is funny... lol.. Charlies is kind of a "soprano" bark still.. . It sounds like he's trying to sound tough though.. hehe |
LOL! Amazingly enough the "big bad Jackson" has a soprano bark, I think anyways. He's got a very high pitched annoying bark. |
I've heard Oliver bark about 3 times... and its totally soprano!! Its so cute because he is all serious when he does it!! :p |
Darcy only barks when someone is walking near the house, he actually wasn't much of a barker at all.....UNTIL......Lizzie arrived on the scene! She barks if anything is not the way, in her opinion, it should be. When I take them for a walk- Darcy walks nicely - Lizzie runs from side to side - barking, barking constantly, as if letting every one know she is coming!:p |
Tibbe is soprano when someone is at the door and baritone for the rest. |
Baritone, I think. I've never heard such a big bark from something so little!:D |
Magic and Annie are definately soprano......but if they really get going it turns into soprano howling!! Sailor would be more tenor/baritone and Captain ranges from tenor/baritone to bass.....but can also switch quickly to howling! Get all of them going and it seems you can hear them in the next neighboorhood - which says something considering we live out in a country area!! (And if they sounded like a pretty choir.....that might be better....but they need to get better in tune and stop shouting!! :D ) |
Mine has a very deep bark, bass or baritone. He didn't bark for the first several weeks we had him, and when he started I was shocked something like that could come from such a little puppy! For a while his barking sounded almost exactly like my fox terrier's bark, but luckily it grew deeper from hers so now I can tell them apart by their bark and I know who to shush. :D |
Dinky is a soprano, ,and he is so obviously is NOT intimidating anyone. It would be sad if his bark weren't so darn annoying. |
I've got to blend in here I guess. Bella has a total Soprano bark. When we first got her we would crack up at her trying to bark (which took weeks btw ) because it was so high pitched. Her growl sounded like a kitten purring! :p She is little and def has a little, high pitched bark! :) |
My boys' barking tones vary based on the reason for the bark. If they see someone through the window, Cooper will just bark loudly with a middle-of-the road tone. Max, like Teddy puts his whole body into it and starts out with a deep R-R-R-R-RUFF! It's a deep, full, low bass sound. When Max is out and about doing his alarm barking it's a very loud soprano bark. When Max has Cooper's ball and they are wrestling in a bed to get it back, Cooper screams soprano so high that it could break windows. |

Before Teddy came into our lives, Max was very polite about letting me sleep in the morning. If I slept too late and he was hungry, he would very softly say "ruff" just like a human whispering it. Sooo cute! |
Armani has two different barks- one is very deep "bass", he barks this way when he is barking at something like someone at the door, another dog, etc. His other bark is very high pitched more "soprano" and this is only when he wants something from me like food or something. Chloe has only one bark- it is pretty deep actually for a teeny little thing- I would say "baritone" |
