jj's bark varies, mostly it is a baritone but if he gets really excited it goes really really high soprano. jewell our yorkie/dachshound although small has a very deep bass bark, which she will do very often for any reason she wants. sometimes i think she is part cat as she often likes to chase and bark at birds. |
Princess has this little girly soprano bark...that i only hear when she wants something, which is all the freaking time! but if she's in protection mode she can take it down to a baritone level. it's so funny, her little butt can def get any message across! |
Zoey's a soprano barker. It's ear piercing  & echos in rooms without carpet. Thankfully she only barks when she wants to play. :) This is my first post. It's so nice to find other Yorkie:aimeeyork lovers. My Zoey is 14 weeks old & she's my first pet in 30 years. My husband & I are just in love :luvu:with her. We haven't had this much fun in years.:woohoo: Cindy:queen3: |
My teapot Melody barely barks, and when she does is definitely soprano... On the other hand, my 5 pounder is contralto... OMG I never thought so much noise can come up of something so tiny!!! And so often!!! Hehehee |
Ruby's bark is middle of the road - not too high and not too deep - thank God since Annie has a bark that sends needles through my brain it's so high and usually so unexpected when she does bark - I couldn't handle two like that. lol Ruby also makes this gargling sound in between barking - I've never heard anything like it before (it's been vet checked and the vet seems to be okay with it given her age). She's a rescue and in the beginning I wondered if she had been debarked because her bark was like a whisper (I've never heard a debarked dog before so wasn't sure), but the longer she's around my other two she is getting a tad louder. One thing I can say about her bark though is once she gets started it's hard to get her to stop especially if one of the others has something she wants - she stands in front of them and I believe would go on forever if I didn't distract her with something else. She is one determined fluff! :) |
My pup's bark is so deep & loud, you wouldn't guess it was a yorkie behind my door. Nice for home protection....not so nice to listen to...thankfully, she doesn't bark much  |

You can kind of hear it around the 1:00 mark in this video.. but that's his 'deeper' play type bark. When he wants something, it's usually a lot higher pitched, lol |

Annoying bark and all, I love my little man. But, if you want to hear high pitched, I'll record Kaji welcoming me home from work tomorrow. That's high pitched! |

Button's very seldom barks though, unless the kids cut through our front yard, and she basically needs to make sure the other dogs are barking first. It's kind of cute to hear the purr/growl, she turns to look at the other dogs barking, turns back to the window, barks...turns around, looks at the other dogs...if they are barking she will turn around again & join in. |
