Dash is just for loving. Don't be surprised if you see me in the roll of "bucket b***h" at some shows, however! See! I am learning the lingo already!;)

Ha! You have no idea! He is the Yorkie I have wanted for 5 years. Of course, I still love my Nicco to death, but I learned an expensive lesson with his breeder. The pic's you are thinking of are of his litter mate - Nealstar's Texax Ranger - who is in the ring currently. Dash looks a whole lot like him in the face!

No?? Well, shoot! And here I as thinking I was figuring stuff out! A little birdie told me that was the term used for the assistant/helper/friend that accompanies a breeder and does the menial tasks (lugging gear, helping set-up/breakdown, cleaning up poo, etc). Not that all exhibitors have that help from what I have witnessed!

Ooops, I have to correct myself. She is showing my Dash's litter mate - Nealstar's Texas State Trooper - Ranger is her CH who is about 11 now.

Dash is a lap baby! Love that he is a snuggler, but so is my Nicco so we may be in for some issues.

One concern with Dash - he wouldn't pee last night! He peed at about 4:30pm, but wouldn't before bedtime. He is pad trained so I put him in a confined area with a pad several times until about 10pm and he never went. I crated him for bedtime, but when he whined I didn't know if he was lonely or had to pee. So I took him out and confined him again several times until about 1am. He never peed so I put his bed and water in the confined area with the pad and went to bed. He whined a couple times and then went to sleep. I woke up at 8am and he was quiet as a mouse, but awake and had pee'd on the pad sometime during the night.

Do you think he wouldn't pee because of the new surroundings? I knew to expect him not to eat, but hadn't heard how changing homes might affect his potty routine.

Tibbe will hold his pee and poop for home, if possible. Your little guy just didn't know he was home last night, I'll bet.

A gopher.....pooper scooper.....holder. You do virtually everything....don't have to be an assistant....just a willing helper for any exhibitor that needs the help. Usually only handlers have assistants....and those assistants do everything except go in the ring, that is unless the handler is showing two or more dogs and both have won their class.

You'd be surprised how long a pup can hold without needing to urinate. He's a bit older so, he can hold it longer.

Max and Teddy both did the same thing when I brought each home.....they held it forever! Made me a nervous wreck. :p Max was 13 weeks and Teddy was 8 months.

Two words:

"I'm exhausted!" (ok, maybe that's 2 1/2 words):)

Dash is "allegedly" pad trained, but I don't really trust that since he is having "accidents." I have had to watch him non-stop for the last 3 days. I had forgotten how tiring that is! Can't even sit down without worrying about where he is! He follows me everywhere (of course) and when he gets distracted and wanders off comes right back when I call him, which is making it easier to monitor his whereabouts. But he has peed on the tile floor 3 times and the carpet once so potty training is now our #1 priority. Aaargh!
