Carmel was a BAD boy! He somehow went to the bathroom and brought the ant killer small container onto my bed. I FREAKED out. I'm worried that anything will happen to him...he seems fine so far. He's actually SUPER active right now. He got a GOOD teeth brushing for doing that. Luckily, it doesn't look like he chewed the center, where the toxins are. He just bit the corner a bit. :( I will update on his progress in the morning.

It was midnight past midnight...vet's closed. I looked on the back of the box it came in to see the ingredients and looked online. Thank goodness nothing happened though! He's super hyper and perfectly fine. I think he just thought it'd be fun to take it since there's no other marks other than in the corner. This never happened to me before...:(

Oh, they can definitely get into some stuff and scare the daylights out of you! Usually there is a number to call on any insecticide. I would always call just to be on the safe side....OR you can call an emergency clinic for advice. They usually are happy to advise people. It did not sound like he got into anything really, but always better to call imo.

I would probably still be at the vet's sitting there with Tibbe in his carrier just in case, as they would have forced me to leave the treatment room this long after nothing happening.

Make sure you gather any remaining ant poison boxes up and dispose of them properly. You cannot use ant bait, roach motel type insecticides, or D-con mouse poison boxes when you have pups like ours around! They are too curious.

I would get the number of Poison Control: ASPCA | Animal Poison Control Center near your phone. (888) 426-4435 They MAY charge you a $65 fee. Still better to get expert info any time of day or night! I would also get the # to the nearest 24-hour emergency vet clinic nearest you. They may answer some question over the phone for free or they might just say to bring them in -- still better safe than sorry.

I just found out the other day that if you have a Home Again microchip and pay for their extended plan, the poison control access is free! :)

That's right and one of the reasons I kept Bella signed up with the extended plan since I have three little sweepers in my house & yard. They are either licking everything up off of the floor and door jams or grazing in the backyard like a small herd of cows consuming anything that doesn't move fast enough...even bees!:eek:
