Yorkie Yard is Complete!!!!!!!
 

Well, my wonderful DH (since I now know what that means):) finished Bevo and Macs new "yorkie yard"!!! It is soooo cool!!! We have a very large backyard and Bevo has only been allowed out when we go out to BBQ, etc, and has always used potty pads indoors....well, now he can go outside at will!!! (And so can little Mac when hes a big boy!)

We put a doggy door in the side of the house and had a bricker actually brick an entrance....it actually goes out onto our back deck. My hubby built a "tunnel" that leads to a ramp that goes down to a 10 X 10 yorkie play yard!! It has a temporary cover now, but he is planning on "roofing" it with something more permanent! He put rubbery mulch like used on playgrounds so it will be great year round!

Little Bevo was very skeptical...I taught him how to use the doggy door in a matter of 15 minutes though!! (proud Mama!!) He is now running in and out so excited!!

Inside, he built a "dog house" literally in our laundry room complete with a shingled roof that leands to the tunnel. If we need to ever close the doors, they have a nice 5 X 3 space to lounge around. The "attic" is used for storage such as dog food, treats. etc!!

Just wanted to share!!! Here are a couple of pics, but I made an album called yorkie yard with several more in case you are interested!! I cant thank my Hubby enough for this project....although I know it wasnt for Bevo and I...It was for our sweet little blue born Mac, who by the way will be 4 weeks on Monday and is the cutest pup ive ever seen!! (not biased!!) :D:D:D

How cool is that! I would love to set up a little private area where Tallulah can go in and out at will and be safe outside. Can I borrow your DH if I promise to return him?

Thanks do sharing, that's so cool! Can you post a video of it? Im having a hard time visualizing how it all connects together. I'd like to see if it stirs some ideas for us.

Thanks..BUT it was MY vision!! LOL!!! I have always wanted Bevo to have an outside place to play! But, until little Mac was born, my hubby just thought I was anal about my yorkie....now, I think he understands. He has "adopted" little Mac, and loves him dearly....the outdoor yard is his little santuary as we know of his potential future problems.....which we of course hope there are none!!

Well how neat of an idea is that. I am going to show this to my husband and see if I can get him on the ball doing something like that. I would not be afraid of little Dudley going out then. Kayla would not bring everything that blows in the yard in the house either. Keep your fingers crossed I can get my dh to do something simular to this. I really like the idea.

Thats a great playyard. Something like that might be good for Paris since he is now blind. That rubber stuff can get hot in the sun so a cover would be a must!
