Just got back after 2 hours at the vet with Sassy. She has lost 2 pounds from not eating :( Seems she has had an anesthesia reaction and that combined with the pain medication caused issues. She was badly dehydrated so the gave her subcutaneous fluids, 2 injections for nausea and to stimulate her digestive system, and a full panel of bloodwork which all came back normal. THANK GOODNESS! I feel so bad for her :( They want me to try and feed her in a few hours...hoping she eats something :animal-pa |
oh wow Glad you took her in. Dehyration is nothing to fool around with. |

Thank yall so much! Sassy is currently laying on my lap. She ate about a 1/4 can of food this evening so that is a good start. I am still having a hard time getting her interested in water. She had Subcutaneous IV fluids today and wet food....I have been using a syringe from the vet to give extra water. Is there any way to get her more interested in drinking? |
If she got subcutaneous fluids, she may not be thirsty. Rio had subQ fluids a couple of times (she had pancreatitis last year) and the subQ fluids were enough fluid for her until she felt better and she eventually drank on her own. |
