Who has the oldest yorkie here?

Daisy will be 7 on April 23.

it'll be interesting to see who has the oldest, good thread idea

My babies are just pups...but I met a lady at the vet's office last week with her yorkie, Jack.. Jack is 17. He is blind and deaf...and had some serious health issues....but also...totally loved and very adorable!!

My two girls will be 7 next month! It seems just like yesterday they were little babies! But the great thing is, they still act and look like pups! Whoohoo! :p

Joan's (Crystalsmom) little Crystal is a nice young age of 12 I think ?

My Chanel is 3-1/2 and Cheri is 1-1/2 :) I can still smell the puppies they were and it's so depressing to see time flying by so fast....my babies are grown up !

Princess will be 3 in March. :)

My girls are still young, Chloe is 18 months and Lacey just turned 1, but this is an interesting post.

You were close Villette but she won't be 12 until June She's
really in good shape for a Queen!! I always kid that my dog and car are the same
age and they both look like they are new.

Sadie was born in March of 1992 so she will be 14 soon. Cujo just had a birthday and he turned 13.

Wow, they look just as young and healthy as everyone else! Very cool. Looks like Sadie and Cujo are the winners so far!

My husband says I'm wrong about Sadie. We got in her in 1991...so that would make her going on 15!

I just told Villette a minute ago before she told me about the thread, that I thought
someone here had a yorkie 14 yrs. old. I think yours is the oldest but we are always
getting new people.

All I can say is our yorkies age GREAT !! They look like young spunky little dolls and this is so cool to see older ones because we have soooo many puppies -

Sadie, I guess I can say CONGRATULATIONS you carry your age with such grace.

It's great we have some "senior" Yorkies around YT, they look as young as a 2 year old still! ;) Now if only WE could keep look so young!

Great thread. Mine are both a little over one.

My Gus is only 1 year and 7 months. I am so looking forward to sharing many years with him. And hope I will be blessed to have him with me for 15 years!

Wow that is so awesome that we have some older yorkie members...makes me look forward to the next 15 years with my girls!!

Bo is my oldest at 9 years.

Well, I might of had one of the oldest yorkie in here. My Lacey was born on January 11, 1992. She died on June 30, 2005 from kidney failure. So, she was 13 years, 5 and half months old when she died. We had a chihihua that lived to be 17 years old.

My friend Marlene have a Yorkie girl that is 18 years , Toupie will be 19 on Christmas Eve .

With all the potential problems these tiny guys face in their lives, it's inspiring to hear about senior Yorkies. Any advice for those of us who hope our Yorkies reach the age of yours and beyond?

If you have a senior yorkie, this is my advice. One of the number #1 killer in senior yorkies is kidney failure. Shortly after Lacey's 13th birthday, we noticed some changes in her behavior. She started throwing up yellow stuff. My mom thought it was just something she ate off the floor that made her sick. Then, she completly lost her appetite and she loved to eat. We would put her dog food out and she did not want to eat. Lacey was only 4 pounds and could not afford to lose any weight at all. She would started drinking frequently. Staying by her water bowl for minutes at a time and urinating frequently. My mom took her to the vet and that is when we got the terrible news that Lacey's kidneys were failing. We had to bring her to vet for fluid shots 3 times a week just to keep her alive. It was so sad. We also had to give her medicine through a syringe. Everytime she saw the syringe, she knew. Her little face would go down like she was fixing to cry. My heart bled for her. We kept her alive for almost 3 months and then she took a turn for the worse. And we had to put her to sleep. As painful as that was, it was even more painful to watch her in so much pain. My poor little baby. So, if you have a senior yorkie, watch for changes in his or her behavior. If they show any syptoms like stated above, please take them to your vet ASAP. Don't wait.

That is exactly what happened to Megan. She was 13 years old and weighted 3.5 lbs. I took her to the vet after awhile and she passed away there a couple of days later. I feel like I waited too long.

Sabrina will be 10 this January! Time flies when you're lovin yorkies.
