The picture of the Yorkie in the # 12 post , just look like the mother of Baby Nathan when Animal Protection agents found her in her cage . I have to admit that this picture came as a real shock when I saw it .

Every times I saw those horror pictures , I am asking myself " why do peoples have to be so crual with little animals that only want to love peoples ?

I agree.... and as we are talking right now - thousands of puppies are in transport to be at the Pet Stores bright and early Monday Morning - many are dead and many are dying.....it's sick and evil.

They babies are taken from their moms too young...and the moms are left alone and in pain.... only to be bred YET AGAIN.

It hurts my heart thinking every Plain no-name 18 wheeler truck I see ....they could be hauling puppies

It really does doesn't it ? I think our letters to Congressmen and our State Representatives will be read - and if enough people write - maybe one day they'll decide to act.

IN some states it IS like an underground operation - they have live auctions that operate in secrecy....Many mills will not allow anyone inside, they hide the real abuse behind closed doors - or out in the country where no one can find them

Dear God, how can anybody treat ANYTHING like this?

It's haunting isn't it and it happens on a DAILY BASIS - so not to offend people - but when I see Pet Stores are ok - this is why I think NOT OK ! The more laws we can help get passed the better chance we have of helping - I guess I should be saying we need more REGULATIONS than ban mills - cause I know that just isn't going to happen any time soon and while it sucks - there are still things we can do - such as .....WRITE YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE - ask for new laws !!

I know we'll never eliminate this huge problem in our country - but other countrys do not allow Puppy Mills to operate - why can't WE TAKE CARE OF OUR BEST FRIENDS LIKE THEY DO ???

Britian has laws - they even banned shock collars - other people I've spoken with in other countrys don't have the problem the USA has -

we won't talk about China here -they make me sick oh what they do with dogs and cats - the FUR TRADE IS ANOTHER THING THAT NEEDS TO BE BANNED

I can't manage to read the entire article :( know what we should do..find somewhere to complain about puppy mills and send them letters explaining how cruel it is. If people are getting locked up for beating up their dog whats the difference with dogs being hurt in puppy mills?

Morning V! I couldn't look at the pics...I have seen them before and they just make me SICK! I think it was a great idea for you to post this now...as, like you said, people will be buying puppies for gifts and will buy just about from ANYONE/ANYWHERE, to get one....I know people have been trying to shut down puppymills for a long time but, and I know alot of these puppies go to pet shops...What really needs to be done is NO MORE SELLING PUPPIES IN PET STORES! If this could be stopped I'm sure it would hurt the puppymills...There is a "kennel"? around me that is called the "Puppy Patch". When I was in the market for a yorkie I checked them out...they were sooooo nice, answered all of my questions and told me that they would be getting yorkies in a couple of weeks...Well, not knowing anything about this place I decided to do some investigating...A good friend of mine was a breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs. I asked her about this place and she had never heard of it...however she did tell me to be cautious because it sounded like a mill...So.....I call the "puppy patch" back and begin to ask questions...they were very nice, BUT! then I started asking questions about where these pups came from....are the bred locally? Her whole attitude changed! she wasn't so friendly anymore..told me that the puppies came from Ohio, MO, Canada and a couple other places I can't remember. I asked "so they are flown here" she told me that some were but most of them they went and picked up....So,,....I guess you know I didn't end up buying one from there ...if you go to www.puppypatch.com you can see how clean and "pretty" the place looks....but, looks are deceiving! My cousing bought a mini daschaund from there...he is in noway a mini and he has LP...I'm not saying this can't happen to a dog from a breeder, because I know it can but most GOOD, CARING, Breeders won't breed an animal if they have this condition....

If there was some way that we knew of, to stop this horrible business, which is all it is to them, it would be my lifes mission. But all the avenues I have tried seem to dead end, and it infuriates me.. which only makes me want to do more. ;)
