I Just Made A Fool Of Myself I just can't believe how stupid I am, I really mean it. This morning when the girls did their poop, I always pick it up outside as soon as it is done. When I got to Willow's I saw these white things in them and ran in got dressed, grabbed Willow and the Poop and went to the Vet Office. I said Willow has worms, please find out what kind and let's get this taken care of. They came back laughing at me. It wasn't worms it was the RICE THAT IS IN HER FOOD. Now I felt realy stupd. You would have thought I could have figured this out for myself, since I used to work at a Vet Office, but it's been 9 years since I have worked. I'm just glad that I have wonderful Vet's and can go in at a moments notice if I need to. |
LOL Glad she is ok |
Darn that rice....get's you everytime!! LOL :D |
Haha, I am sure the vets would much rather someone like you then those people who don't want to take care of their pets. When my mom was babysitting chloe for me once she rushed her to the vet because she was "choking and couldn't breathe", it was reverse sneezing, lol. |
lmao!!!!! Just be prepared if you feed her beets! |
Oh no! lol Hey, sometimes when it comes to our kids and pets (same thing :D) we let our emotions cloud reasoning. Hey, I've learned with my kids it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. In other words act first, ask questions later. :) |
Oh that rice... I have had to stop myself a couple of times for doing the same thing! |
Too funny! I think I would do the same exact thing:D It's nice to see that there are people who actually take their dogs to vets when they think something is wrong. |
Dont feel bad I would have done the same thing Im paranoid when it comes to worms |
Your not foolish, just a good mommy. |
You are a great pet owner:) If anything looked out of the ordinary , I would of reacted the same way. It is better to be safe then sorry . Glad that your little guys were ok. |
I've done the exact same thing. :D I even took a dog to the Vet. because I thought he had a growth on his side and it turned out to be a "love" handle. (fatty tissue) They do worry you don't they. Just like kids for sure!! |
Yep, I would have done the same thing! Vet first is my mantra. |
Love it! |
No, not stupid at all! Just paying attention... which is a very good trait in Yorkie Ownership (when you are owned by Yorkie(s)):D |
Don't feel bad.. you were being a good mommy!! I should not tell on myself... but I rushed Sammy to a 24 hour vet at 2:00 in the morning one time because I though he was bleeding.. he had an ... errection. I can not express how I felt... or the kidding I have received for that one. |

I take it Willow inhales her food vs. chewing up those grains of rice...lol:D |
I would have done the same. Better safe than sorry. |

Don't feel bad at all I rushed Brandi to the emergency vet not once but twice. The reason......soft stool. On both occassions it seemed Brandi was having a hard time doing number two plus she seemed really restless, so at 11:00 at night I rushed her to the vet because I thought it was something really serious. After they ran all the regular test, it turned out, she just had a bout of soft stool but basically both visits cost a 120.00 a pop just to clean and shave her butt hair. They did give me something for the soft stool but I could have easily taken her to her regular vet for much less. Better safe than sorry is the motto I live by when it comes to both of my furbabies (Zoey, Brandi's mean evil cat sister). |
It's great to see a responsible pet owner :) I would have done the same thing, so don't feel stupid :p |
Bless your heart! You were just worried.:) |
Bear in mind it had been awhile since I had a dog with "hair". Within a couple days of getting Gracie I looked at her butt and saw this unGodly hair "tube" hanging out of her. I panicked...then calmed down (but only a bit) and thought ok it must be poop - started running the shower massage over her backside (scaring her in the process)...it wouldn't come off -- I decided her intestines were coming out - I started screaming for my son (12 at the time) to come and help me get her a towel and to the vet...Drove like a maniac to the vet each mile worse thoughts running through my mind...my poor little dog is losing her insides, she's going to die, on and on... We run in with her...I'm screaming "my puppy is dying, help her, help her..." They take her from me ---they shaved her butt and said, "these little dogs get poop stuck to all that hair they have quite frequently. Keep her butt shaved". though I felt like a fool I was relieved. I'm sure they waited until I left to laugh So they all have their butts shaved a couple times a month now. They line up when one is getting done. Kinda cute/funny of them. I say, "Time to get your butts shaved"...and they come running and line up. Same with "time to get your ears shaved" they compete for who goes first. (Gracie wins out of course) Now for weird food coming out: Watch out for shaved carrots...produces an odd looking "worm" - ! lol (yeah, that was another vet trip) |
