So glad you had him scanned to be sure...checking craig's list, the paper and animal control to see if a dog is reported missing only works if the dog is reported missing locally...my worse fear personally, not only that my dog would be lost, but found and kept because someone didn't check to see I reported them missing to animal control and have them chipped ...in saying that my Scoobers was dumped outside a pound and was home again chipped also the pound contacted the registered chip person and no response...later in talking to the chip people...apparently the previous registered person had several hundred dogs registered to them! Unfortunately pup mills and otherwise also use chips as a selling point...ye that and if someone didn't bother to update their chip info...they may not want to be found...sad sad sad, seems its always "older" dogs who get dumped. Congrats on having him! Looks like he found a really good home now! Looking forward to more posts from you on how everything goes :) Quote:

I love the name Aussie. :) Good on you for taking him in, he deserves a good mommy. Hope all is well, and he is as healthy as can be!! Try the special dog food that most vets sell, I believe it's A/D, and dogs can't resist it. I know it took Holly a while to eat when I brought her home, but now she's a little piggy. :P |
Happy Birthday Aussie :D |
Well all went pretty good at the vet yesterday. His basic with CBC blood work came out real good. Only a couple things out of range, the vet was ok with them though. Aussie did'nt loose any teeth, but he does have really bad gums. He has 2 prescriptions to help them get better. I am so happy he is alright :) Now we need to work on him being afraid... |
Poor baby. Sounds like he's not had any dental care in his life. I hope he gets less afraid. Give him a big hug. |
I'm glad his health is good. I hope his gums will be ok. It's wonderful he's getting such great care.:) |
The Home again microchip finally got transfered under my name. The only information that came over was his name (he didn't react to it, I didn't keep it), the type of dog - Yorkshire Terrier & his birthday - December 1, 2000!! That makes him two years older than the vet estimated. If this is correct from the past owner, he was born on my birth date  it was meant to be! |
sounds like you and Aussie were destined by to together. Thank you for taking him in and giving him a great home. I am sure in not time he and the girls will get along famously! |
The joys of living in the foreclosure capital of the U.S., huh? check out K9's and Kitties on Lake Mead & Rampart if you're in the NW area. They carry most all of the better quality foods, including S & C, and they have lots and lots of samples that you can get and try if he is still fussy. |
awww poor little guy!!! Congratulations to you and to Aussie!!! I'm so happy he's found a good forever home with you and your family! I adopted a 10 yr. old little girl...and she's been a BLESSING for our whole family!! Same birthdays??? Looks like it was definitely meant to be!! |

Thanks for the info about K9's & Kitties. I have seen them at a few doggie events around the NW area. I'll check them out. Aussie is eating really good now & is eating the same as the girls, except for the Preference (Honest Kitchen). Quote:
