Our new beds 1 Attachment(s) Ok, call me weird, but my daughter and I came across the cutest idea for little beds Saturday and had to run and buy all the stuff to make them. (PS, in case you have been following my baby, Im the one with the "blue born" pup Mac)(and p.s. he is doing Amazing!!!!).....:)...Anyways, back to the beds...The frame consist of PVC pipe and 4 little legs. Then you can add the fleece of your choice and tie around the frame (ours of course was Texas Longhorns...hence the names "mac" (Mac Brown) and "Bevo" (the longhorn mascot)..lol...anyways, just thought I'd share the idea! Heres a pic of Mac and Bevo in their new bed! |
How cute!!! What a cute idea for a bed. Your babies are adorable. :) |

I made one for my girls too. Isn't that PVC pipe great! I made this one to take in the motor coach to put up when we are at the RV parks and put the fence around the patio. This bed is easily taken apart for traveling. ;) |

It is very sturdy!!! Bevo weighs 4 pounds or so, but it would easily support 5 of him!!! He cant even make the fleece bow. The instructions are simple. Use 1/2 PVC pipe. We did 2 foot long and 1 foot wide. (one bed takes 6 foot of pipe including legs) We bought 4 "tripod" pvc pipe conectors at lowes in the plumbing section for the corners and the legs. We cut the legs 4 inches, and rubber end caps so it wouldnt slide (hardware isle). We used pvc glue when assembling it to ensure it never came apart. Next, we spray painted the frame black (but you could use whatever color). I bought 3/4 yard of fleece per bed. although it was a bit too long, but we used the little extra piece for a pillow. I cut the "strips" 3 1/4 inches long and tied a piece (top and bottom) to the frame. I tied 3 sides and then inserted some matting in between the two pieces of fleece to make it more cushiony, although you dont have to,then tied up the forth side. Hope this make sense!! Im a visual person, so its hard to put my "visions" into writing!! lol |
Great idea! I like the idea of beds that keep them off the floor. Our winters are short here but since we tiled the floors, I realize how cold they are in the winter. My pups are all sleeping on the furniture or me lately. That is okay but I would like them to get back to using their own beds eventally. These would be great to keep them off the cold tile. I think they would be really great for out at the pool. Would give them a nice place to sun-dry after their pool play. I got the "talkin' done" now I need to get busy and make them! |
cute idea!! Darling babies!! They look as happy as can be! |

Love the beds. I will have to try this when I get a little free time. |
If possible, would you be able to take a picture without the blankets? (If it's not too much trouble!) I'm a visual learner too! :p[/QUOTE] Yes, As soon as I get home later, I will add some!! |
See If I had done something like that; dogs, blankets everything would be on the floor! Looks great ladies! |
