"THOSE" Kind of People I learned today that i am guess i am one of "THOSE" kind of people. This afternoon I went to the arts & craft store, had Heidi in my purse-like carrier sitting in the childs seat part of the buggy. She was being as good as can be. A lady working there stopped & asked me if she could help me find something. I told her what I wanted, and Heidi turned around in her carrier causing it to move a little bit. The lady's eyes got really big... I said, "oh, that's just my dog. I didn't want to leave her in the car." With disdain she said, " oh, you're one of THOSE kind of people." Felt like she talked down to me the rest of the time. Oh well, I will consider that a compliment that I love & take care of my pet & responsibilities. |
and proud of it too :D |
Well, at least you're not one of "those" kind of people who thinks leaving their dog in the car is OK! |
I'm proudly one of THOSE kind of people too :D |
:( How sad she doesn't know what it is like to have the kind of love "THOSE" people have in their lives. I couldn't live without it. Definitely take it as a compliment. :) xoxo |
Come to West palm Beach...I went to the Green Market and took mine in a stroller...we were among dozens of other dog people...some walking, some being carried and some in strollers...no one in Palm Beach would insult a dog person. |
"Those kind of people" are the happiest and healthiest people in the world so as MaddiesMommie said, take it as a compliment. |
Well "Those" kind of people have little ones to love and be loved by. She doesn't know what she is missing! She might be a much happier person if she became one of "those" kind of people. It is a compliment that you are taking care of your baby! :D |
and people wonder why someone can make a lot of money printing T-Shirts that say I prefer my dogs company, or, I like my dogs better than most people I meet...etc. The sad part is, I think I fall in those categories these days! lol:D |
don't worry... I like "those" kind of people best:p |
You are a much better person than I am.... I would have got thrown out of the store; after a few choice words to her. Now granted I have never carried any of my dogs around, Taken them out when I had to go somewhere. I just do not do it. I leave them home..... BUT the fact that she has made up her mind to INSULT you because you do not leave your doggie home, and you will NOT leave him sitting in a car, as I see MANY folks do. She would have been able to go back and tell her friends one of THOSE people told her something about her self in a very UN NICE way. Breath! Breath! |
I guess I'm one of "those" kind of people too and darn proud of it. |
Maybe she meant to say, "Oh you're one of those KIND people! :D All I can say, is hopefully she'll never get a yorkie, she'll be eating her words! |
i'd rather be around "those" people anyday!! That woman was just plain rude! |
Im glad we all are "those kind of peoples!" |
I'm sure I would have said..."I suggest you keep your prejudices to yourself...and get me what I NEED NOW"!!!! I will not tolerate a store "employee" insulting me!!! |
How rude... Don't worry, I'm one of "those" kind of people too! |
Better to be one of "those" kind of people than one of "her" kind of people! |
Thanks for all the encouraging comments. :) I knew you would all understand. |
I'm definitely 100% on of "those kind of people" and love it more everyday! Don't give her a second thought...she's the one missing out! Sad for her :(. |
haha I had a lady walk up and ask me "you know what causes that don't you?" I was  and thinking "do I look pregnant? :D" and then she said "if you quit getting dogs, you don't have to walk them. |
Seriously?I could see if it was a joke at first but if she continued to talk down to you...I'd have promptly turned and walked out and never returned...I'm one of "THOSE" kind of people who doesn't pay people to be rude to me either...and in another lifetime I'd have been one of "THOSE" kind of people who'd have assisted a girl with such a smart mouth in tooth extraction...:D Quote:

I wouldn't really do it......but I would express my disdain of being treated in such a manner to management or the owners depending on the store's type and I'd definitely envision doing so...;) My biggest thing is I don't spend my hard earned money supporting things I either don't beleive in, want to support or for myself or others to be treated negatively...often boycotts of financial nature are the most effective...you can write letters to companies all day long but refusing to financially support them creates change a whole lot faster an more effectively. Power of the mighty dollar and all. Quote:

I would never go back and shop at a place where I was insulted. Too many other places to shop at |
""Why, yes, I'm one of THOSE kind of people that is here to spend money."" then bat your eyes and wait for her to be 'helpful'. It's all in the response. kill 'em with kindness, and if that doesn't work....kill 'em |
You wouldn't think someone in RETAIL would talk like that to a customer..... maybe a nice note to the store... which usually has a "contact us" e-mail address would be appropriate..... That was rude..... you were doing the right thing by NOT leaving your pet in the car! |

You were kinder than I would have been. |
