| I think I'm ready! This time next week we'll have our new Little Dude! (we've narrowed his name down to 2 choices). I am soooo excited. I think I've got everything we'll need: crate carrier 2 beds Nutrical potty-training pads playpen toy food sweater collar harness (on it's way) shampoo treats portable steam carpet cleaner Once he arrives I'll let my girls choose his leash, bowls, and placemat. They can also get him a few more chew toys. I'm waiting to see what kind of coat he develops before I invest in a "nice" brush. We've already got some that'll do for now. In many ways, this feels like getting ready for a new baby! * Little Dude is the one in the middle |

| Congratulations! I know the waiting is terrible. It seemed to take forever for me to get my pup home with me. All the pups are beautiful..of course the one in the middle is the best one. Lol. You talk about him as if you're getting ready for a baby. If you've never had a puppy, that's exactly what it's like. As he grows he will seem more like a toddler, going through the terrbile twos. Unless you have a laid back pup. Mine kept me running all the time She would get into everything. I didn't know about an ex-pen then. I didn't find YT until Calleigh was over a year old. Wished I had found it earlier. I can't wait to see more pictures your "little dude" when you get him. You'll fall in love with him so much you won't believe it!! Congratulations!

| LOL! My husband does a lot of eyerolling! Especially after I told him I sewed 3 pillowcases and 2 blankets to match Little Dude's new carrier. Now if only we could choose a name I'd take those to get monogrammed... LOL!! In all seriousness, I have the best husband in the world! He knew from day one I'm a furry animal kind of girl, and he willingly shares me w/ our cat (who only likes me) and our Lhasa who is my little shadow. Since this is "officially" going to be my daughters' puppy, he's as excited as I am to see their reaction. Well, maybe not AS excited as I am, but still excited. He knows as a SAHM, I'll be doing the most of the work, feeding/potty-training/socializing etc, (puppy AND children) but he's already agreed to the 1st morning potty-break; before 6AM I don't function too well. LOL! |

| We got my Lhasa when he was about 7 wks old. I really knew nothing about puppies back then, so he really did become my baby before my baby girls were born. Rosco has always been the best dog; even as a puppy he had a lot of energy but rarely got in trouble for being naughty. Potty-training was a challenge, but he never chewed on anything, didn't dig, or bark/bite, etc. He's just the bestest dog ever!! But he's 12 now, and as much as I hate to think about it, I know that he won't be with us forever. He had ACL surgery in '07 and since then he's slowed down a bit, but don't tell him that- LOL! I'm hoping the new Little Dude will be a great buddy for him... The primary reason for getting the puppy though, is for my daughters'. My oldest has prayed and prayed for one for over a year; it will truly be a dream come true for her. The older ones are mature enough to help care for the puppy, and as they go through the difficult "tween" years soon, there will be no better cure for hurting hearts then sweet puppy kisses. |
