Do peole think your crazy? So I am the proud dog mama to a 7 month old, female, yorkie shih tzu mix. She is such a love! I love her so much it is crazy! I think I might talk about her very often, I take her to doggy day care when I work. I have had her for 4 months and just now I am finally able to start being okay leaving her home alone for a couple hours. She is spoiled, but she is a really good, well behaved pup! I even called into work on 2/15 when she went into heat on 2/14 (partly cause she couldn't go to doggy daycare and i had no one else to stay with her while i worked my 12 hour day) ....and she was already scheduled for a 2/16 spay! Do other yorkie dog moms feel like they are crazy? :aimeeyork |
Join the club! For example, I get out at 4:30 from work. Today, I had to swing by our main office to pick up something. I was so afraid of getting home late, that I actually swung by my house (I swear, it was on the way) to pick up Kaji so he wouldn't worry. |
I'm in a long distance relationship and last night I was talking to my BF and when he asked what I was doing I said snuggling with Troy. Mind you he's not too much of a dog person so he said "That doesn't sound fun." I sort of chuckled and said well he's keeping me warm. He thinks both me and my daughter are off our rocker for loving him so much. My brother, who has big manly pit bulls thinks it strange I take Troy everwhere. When I went back home to Detroit for a mini vacay, My brother said "how are you getting the dog back home?" I said on the plane silly. He couldn't believe I was going to buy a plane ticket for him. He thought Troy was gonna stay with him and his pit bull Hannibal!:p |
I have to admit I am absolutely in love with my little guy. I know what you mean about running home from work so he wont think you are late, and i leave in the morning at the absolute last minute so I can stay with him as long as possible!!! :aimeeyork |
I think many of us are the same way! My friends and family think I am "obsessed" with Rosie. My mother actually asked my uncle to say an extra prayer for me at our Thanksgiving dinner during the blessing! I don't care. I love my baby and I don't care what anyone else thinks about me! :p DvlshAngel985, I can't tell you how many times I have stopped to get Rosie before I go somewhere. I can't stand for her to be at home when she should be with me. That is why I bought a Kwigy bo. So, I can sneak her in!! :D I think they are a loving breed that deserves to be spoiled. Or at least Rosie seems to like it! :) |
I think the OP has this one wrong... we're not the crazy ones.... it's the rest that are crazy... cause ya know we are the majority on here, it's the people who don't understand the love of a dog who are crazy :P |

Spoiled Rotten Everyone I know thinks I am crazy, I became so obsessed after I got Tessie, I now have 4 and love every one of them. They are so spoiled, I work across the street from my house at an elementary school, so I come home to check on them at my lunchtime. My DH who said "we would never have a dog in the house" loves them and spoils them as much as I do. I get jealous because he is retired and gets to spend more time with them. He has a golf buddy that thinks we are really crazy because they each have their own car seat. Of course I think something is wrong with people that DON'T have a Yorkie.:yorkiesar |
I have the Same amount of pictures on my phone of my puppy as I do my kids. Hercules goes everywhere with me. I'm out of town for business right now and he is here playing in the blankets on the bed. I don't think I'm crazy, just a good mommy!! I wouldn't have left my kids alone this young. : ) |
Yes, but it has nothing to do with the Dogs |

Haha! I'm sure people think I'm crazy, Oliver is like my child and I treat him as such! I take him to doggy daycare too during the week, I try to take him everywhere with me on errands (that's hard though) and he comes up in EVERY conversation I have, not to mention takes up my entire facebook page haha :p |
4 Attachment(s) Wow you have shorkie also. We have a 15 month old shorkie girl named Zoe. We also have a yorkie and a shih tzu plus 2 19 month old basset hounds. My family thinks I'm totally crazy because I have a wardrobe for all my dogs even the bassets. |

They are all so cute!! |

You are after my heart! We loved the basset we had for a few years. Her favorite game was to play like she was too weak to stand up so Daddy would feel sorry for her. He would come and pet her telling her what a poor poor puppy she was. He'd stand her up and she would collapse. This would go on for several minutes until dh indicated game over then she would race out of the room as cheerful as can be! And our little shih tzu is the heart of our family. What a sweetheart she is. She is our groomers favorite dog. |
Oh yeah, definitely...I even think I'm crazy, but I've learned to live w/it, so I think I'm waaaaaay ahead of those crazy ppl that don't know they're crazy lolol...More importantly, I'm crazy about my babies, and don't care what anyone thinks about how I treat them :p |
I'm sure people think something is wrong with me. I never thought I would turn into that "crazy dog lady." :) I've never had a dog that I love this much. When we are walking I'm always talking to her. I bet that looks a little crazy, but I don't care. She understands just about everything I tell her. I do feel a little crazy when I push her in her stroller though. I don't use it very often because I like her to walk. If we go out sightseeing for the day I will put her in it so she can rest. I'm am that "crazy dog lady," and I love it! |
Lol... |
I'm so bad that I plan my grocery trips around her nap time. The last time my husband took me to a movie I couldn't relax because I was worried she would wake up before we got back. I have turned down plans to go out to lunch with friends because it conflicted with Mina's schedule. My friends already thought I was nuts so this is just a finger-thump over the edge as far as they're concerned!:D At least my hubby is as nuts as me about her so I'm in good company. |

Haha! I do the same thing!!! My BF thinks I'm nuts sometimes but he can be just as bad as me ;) |
Your all crazy! I'm right there with you though,... I talk to all my dogs more than I talk to people.. I can be sitting there on the phone with someone and be ignoring them and instead talking to my dogs like there human.. Dogs are always there for you.. They love you uncondionally. |
LOL! Yay! I don't feel so alone now! Thanks! I swear, I can relate to all of your responses. There is something so special about those little pups that just grab you by the heart strings! I totally am a crazy dog mom, and I love it!:aimeeyork:animal-pa:) |
When I am out of the house...I leave the TV on set to the "Food Network Channel" for the :aimeeyorkgirls:aimeeyork to listen to Paula Dean and Rachel Ray...in hopes that one night I'll come home to find dinner prepared!:D |
I wasn't that crazy about mickey when i first got him, maybe because i was 9, but my parents are crazy about him! my mom would even sneak her into the grocery store to buy her daily cup of coffee (even thought she wasn't going into the actual food area they asked her not to bring the dog in) my dad now worries that mickey might not get his favourite snack, persimmons, because they're very expensive in korea (food price has risen like crazy in korea). Now that I am getting a new puppy, I feel like I will become crazy in love with the puppy. I mean who wouldnt??? its your baby and they are so adorable :) p.s i think my dad misses mickey more than his own daughter! |

me too my daughter the other day said, "mom, the dog's pictures have been on your facebook profile for months!" Hope you are not turning into one of THOSE people!! Told her I love you, but since you left us, Dad and I have a new baby and his name is Winston. She is 34 no children yet, Dad thinks she might be a l i t t l e jealous. you think!!!:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Yep, I'm in good company with all you fur kid "crazies". :D I feel so guilty if I can't take them sometimes. The times I'm only gone for just a short time, I put cartoons on for them.....but not just any ol cartoon, it has to be the learning ones that don't have any kind of bad things in it, and if I know I'll be gone three or more hours, I put the harp music on, then can't wait to get back home. Not a day goes by that I'm not grateful to be retired so I can be with them. |
My family thinks I'm crazy! But If this is crazy I LOVE it!! I tell my furkids I love them all the time and I talk to them like they are my kids. They rule my facebook page. I should just rename my page to Remy and Winston's facebook. I often carry Remy around like a baby :-P he loves it! How can you not be crazy about these little ones? They love you no matter what, always happy to see you, and are dependent on us to take care of them! I love being crazy :-) |
I'm getting there lol. My husband keeps telling me that I am acting like one of those weird dog freaks. I'm taking offense to it! I keep telling him to stop saying that in a negative way and he says, I never thought I would see you act like this. :( When we got Louie in January it was mainly for my 16 year old daughter but it is me who fell so hard for him. I\'m getting upset when I have to be away from the house etc.... now I talk to him without being so loud for fear of the family laughing at me and saying I\'m crazy. |
