| Question about Coats! I've heard there's the silky and the cottony. Are both non-shedding? It's looking like my little Totoro may have the cottony coat and I'm wondering do they still have no undercoats no matter what type and only lose hairs through brushing, etc.? Thanks in advance!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Yes they are both non-shedding. Right now Totoro still has puppy coat.

Thank you! I know he does but I heard if it's wavy and not cool to the touch then it won't be silky, but we will see Good thing for me to know either way

| Rio has a silky coat and Bullet has a cotton coat. Neither of them shed and with daily brushing, matting's not a problem.

| neither shed. One way to know the cotton coat besides a coat that will matt is that it will not shine like a silk

| Yorkies, no matter what type of coat, have no undercoat and do not shed. Green eye reflection is an indication of a silky coat. |

| Nope no shedding in Yorkies...single coat more like hair than fur, cottony or silky. AMD nice to know about the green eye reflection..interesting in the least... Last edited by concretegurl; 02-17-2011 at 11:47 PM. |
