Welcome, I'm a newbie too! My Kody is 11 weeks today and is very active. The first vet visit is very important as you already know. Also make sure he's eating and drinking. I would get some Nutrical to keep on hand. My Kody has already had his second round of vaccinations. As of last week Kody weighed 3.8lbs.

Kody's ears are rising - but not fully up yet. I would worry about it.

Oh he's definately eating and drinking :D your Kody is adorable! How big will he be around at adult size?
My breeder told me that none of her pups grew up over 4 lbs but I just weighed Totoro at 10 weeks today and he is 3.1lbs (didn't poop yet though is that makes a difference? haha)
I wonder how big he'll get..

Welcome to YT and congratulations on your new pup.
A breeder can not guarentee size of a pup, and if Totoro weighs 3.1lbs at 10 weeks he probably will be over the 4lb mark.
There is a chart somewhere that gives you a rough idea of weight when full grown.. will see if I can find it for you. The chart is just an estimate though.

Congratulations on your sweet little yorkie and welcome to YT. I saw your question about size and I found a growth chart: Yorkshire Terrier - Yorkie Puppy Growth/Weight Chart - watch us grow
I would assume that he will be about 5lbs. That is how big my Molly is and I think she is perfect! I hope you have fun with him, they are the perfect companions!

Thanks for your input! Yes I've seen the chart but he's off the chart right now and I don't think he'll be that huge :confuse2: is it possible for them to stop growing earlier or slow down? I've read a lot of different answers to the sizes questions and how some started smaller, ended up large and vice versa :angel: I also heard of the rule of thumb so at 12 weeks I'll see how big he is and double it, maybe it'll give me an approx, but I won't know for sure until he's older :)

Thanks so much!! If that's Molly in the little pic, she looks adorable! You should put up some pics :D
Do you think he'll be around that size based on what my breeder said or was Molly around that size at 10 weeks? Thanks for your input!

Its true puppies all grow at different rates but I would be very suprised if he stopped growing so soon.
Poppy was around 3lbs at 4/5 months old and is now 6lbs at 8 months old so I think your baby will be larger then 4lbs.
Even though Poppy is 6lbs and isnt finished growing she is still small, I wouldnt want her any other way. They are such a worry when they are really small and she was always under foot, they can very easily be stepped on and it is a constant worry. Bigger is better :) the standard is no larger then 7lbs so I expect your baby to be within the standard but more around the 5/6lb mark. :)

Oh I agree 6 lbs is still small I just really didn't want him to be over the standard, or become massive like some of the huge yorkies I've read about closer to 20 lbs haha I love Totoro and I don't want him to be teeny tiny and fragile, he's named after a giant anyhow :) If he's 5/6 that'd be just fine with me.
