Max needs a forever home.
 
I was making my monthly trip to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen, MA to drop off my newspapers to their recycle program and decided to take a look thru the adoption center to visit the animals. I came across a very cute YORKSHIRE TERRIER named MAX who is 8 yrs old and only gets along with women, no kids, dogs,cats, or men are comfortable with this little guy. He has been there since the beginning of the year. As I stood there looking at him a caregiver came and gave him his second bowl of food for the day, but he didn't eat the first one, so they just switched the bowl. Poor Max went into the corner and just stayed there shaking.
I wanted to give out this information about Max, who is looking for a forever home and a female that is willing to have patience with him, he really needs love and attention.
If you live in New England region, please look him up on their site of adoptable pets.

He is a cute boy. I can't believe he has been there a year. Hopefully he will find his forever home soon.

Max has been there since Dec 31, 2010, so just over a month. Poor baby was facing the corner and shaking. I felt so bad that he hasn't found a home, he's really nice looking. He is housebroken and needs just one female to give him love and attention. I have 2 yorkies myself but I so wanted the information to go out just in case there was someone who is willing to work with him and give him the care he needs.

Maybe a Rescue could get him into a foster home. It breaks my heart to hear these babies.

Poor thing. I hope Max finds a wonderful Mommy who will love him to pieces. It's so sad to hear of these things. I will pray that Max finds a loving home.

I understand now. As you know, I have 2, including one named Max. Wish I could go give that little guy some hugs and love.

I hope someone gets him quickly, I looked at Max and thought how much he looks like my Sophie Kate.

Poor baby! :( My heart breaks for him. I so hope someone gets him soon. I wish I knew a female that didn't have any dogs that would take him in. :(

I don't want to claim to be an expert, but I have a shy one that didn't like anybody. With love, training, and tons and tons of patience, these little ones can turn around and be awesome buddies! I can't take him myself being so far away, but I hope someone can open their heart to a little on in need. :)

Going on Petfinder breaks my heart. :( I think I would take them all if I could. How can people be so heartless and mean to these babies? I just don't understand. Everytime I go on there I end up crying. I think it is just so sad. I wish we could do more for these little ones.

Thanks so much for posting this information, I didn't get all of the information at the beginning post. While I was there, he looked so cold, and did not eat. Would it be possible for a Yorkie Rescue in the area can take him from there to foster until he can find a forever home ? Even tho he's 8 yrs old, he still has a lot of love to give, usually those rescued are so appreciative to the ones that take them and love them forever. Please call Nevins Farm if there is anyone that can foster him in the area. He really needs a forever companion. Thanks for passing all this information along.

I have 2 yorkies myself that I"ve had since they were tiny pups, one is 13 yrs old and blind now from PRA, and the other little one, her sister is 11 yrs old with one eye from Glaucoma. They both have their challenges but they are warm and loved. I hope Max finds a forever home soon, he's such a sweet little guy, please pass around the information.

Hi I will be more than happy to take a sweater and jacket for max as I am not that far from methuen, I will also post to all my friends to see if anyone will be up for adoption, i hope this cuddle bug finds a forever home soon!!

It breaks my heart to hear of Max's plight. Please call your nearest rescue organization and ask them to pass along Max's location to the nearest Yorkshire Terrier rescue service or a small dog rescue. Most people in charge know other rescue personnel and they all belong to internet mail lists of other rescue groups, so word will get out. He will be put into foster care with an experienced foster where he will be loved and worked with on his issues of being afraid of men, etc.

Wish my group was closer............but I know there is a group closer.

Anything for these little munchkins :( it breaks my heart to hear about max, i wish i could do more. if there are any takers for him i will be more than happy to help in any way possible!!

If anyone knows of a Yorkshire Terrier rescue service near Methuen, MA so maybe they can work with the MSPCA and give him a temporary home, please let them know about Max. He's not getting the help & individual attention he needs where he is now, hope he's not there too much longer and someone goes and takes him home to foster. Bumping up for Max !

Do you how much does Max weigh by any chance, I am thinking what size sweater will fit him. i will be seeing this little guy today :)

Also i tried looking up yorkie shelters in the area and came across yorkies inc but they dont have an email address listed. Can anyone please reach out to other groups who can help Max :(
