i would also like to add that i adopted a 5 month old yorkie puppy last october from a humane society. she was taken from a puppy mill with her mother and brother when the pups were only 2 weeks old. the humane society adopted the mother and cared for the pups till they reached 2 pounds each. she may have had a rough start in life but you wouldnt know it! she is sooo sweet and lovable and everything i wanted and more! she didn't know what grass was and i could tell she had been in a cage because she did and still spins in circles. i've had her a little over 3 months now and i know she was meant to be my baby. she is hardly skittish at all, but she didnt really like santa at petsmart when we got her picture taken lol. rescue is the only way to go for me! there are so many little sweeties in need and they will pay you back with a lifetime of love. i hope you will find another angel who in time will find its own special place in your heart and help you heal. but there will always be that special place for your beloved chiquita in your heart! |
So sorry for your loss... |
oh my gosh how sad is that to pass her dog over because she didn't like how its coat looked. That is exactly why I myself looked for a rescue fit for myself knowing people like her exist My new little girl has a bad haircut from her previous owner and a cotton coat that looks like she just woke up most of the time. She may not be a picture of a show dog but I love this little angel beyond words. I love puppies but at my age having one that is 4 years old is wonderful she just fit right in on the cuddle zone with me and couldnt' be happier. I thought maybe I'd have to work on potty for a few months but even with that she's amazing. I got so lucky and am so thankful to god for bringing her into my life if that makes sense |
hello.. welcome to yt. You will make friends here, and we all help each other. I lost a little pup, it took awhile to stop hurting every day. I will never forget her but it does hurt less. I now have another, and I love her just as much in a different way. Good luck |
I'm so sorry for your loss. I have often experienced that pain. I have had so very many dogs in my life - almost all of them were rescues and a lot of times it broke my heart hearing their stories. Sometimes I would just get angry at the stupidity of their previous owners. Their loss was always my gain. It was so rewarding watching them come out of their shells and settle into a comfy living with us. Sometimes that bond is stronger than one you would develop with a new puppy. I wish the best for you and hope you can come to remember your little one without sorrow as you heal and learn to love another. |
Thanks so much for writing. I'm looking into Yorkie rescues right now. |
