I swear, they are sometimes better than our children. They don't talk back or give attitude, lol. They live you no matter what kind of day you are having. Lol.

I just wanted to point out to you that not ALL rescue dogs have been mistreated or hurt and very often it is the exact opposite.

Rescue dogs are surrendered for a variety of reasons, the econonomy, a death in the family, a divorce, a new puppy didn't work out, an illness or injury that an owner can not afford, etc.

If you look at YTNR's website today you will see a Yorkie Momma & her three little boys at 7 weeks old were surrendered by their owner due to a divorce. Abuse had nothing to do with their being in a rescue group. My Avatar (under my name) is a picture of the little puppy I am fostering right now and would you like to know why she was surrendered? Because her Momma did not care for the way her adult coat was growing in. :(

My heart goes out to you and I'm so sorry for your loss of little Chiquita. I have 3 yorkie girls and they are all healthy, but many years ago I had a little poodle named Monique. When I had to have her put to sleep, I said never again will I have a dog. I just cannot go through losing a precious loved one again. I went for many years just for that reason, without a dog in my life. Honestly, my life was pretty empty all those years without one. That unconditional love is just so uplifting. I will pray for God to comfort you, and also that you find a yorkie puppy to help heal your broken heart. Hugs to you!

Thanjs so much. Your little girls are precious. My little Chiquita loved clothes and dresses too. It's hard living without my little girl. Miss her cuddling next to me. Enjoy your little girls. I'm searching for a little girl. Not to replace Chiquita, but to help me cope a little better.

Not all rescues are abused or harmed in anyway sometimes people have to give them up esp lately due to losing job and home.

You will know for sure though in your heart what is right for you.

for me mine was always by my side went everywhere with me and was a total cuddle bug.

My new rescue..same thing has to be where I am...wants to cuddle all the time so for us..the perfect fit.

Yes like others already mentioned...not all rescues are harmed or abused...

My Honey was only surrendered because her very aged owner passed away and her husband could not care for her, as he traveled many weeks and months out of the year! She was well loved and taken care of and is a balanced and happy yorkie...she just needed someone to be with her FULL time!!! Please don't let that fear deter you from at least looking into a rescue!! :)

i am also grieving the loss of my baby girl nika who passed away suddenly at 6.5 years old this past august. i am so very sorry to hear of your loss. i have nika's mother, zowi still and had nika from birth also. it has been so hard on me to be without her. we shared an incredible bond and she loved me more than any other dog i've ever had. i have a memorial necklace and several other memorials of her. every morning and night and in between i look at her picture and tell her how much i love her and miss her. i know that her spirit and love is still all around me and always will be. i will always have so many happy memories with her that no one will ever be able to take away. i shared her story and a couple pet loss poems in the r.i.p. section of the forums as nika will live forever in my heart. it has been very hard dealing with the fact that she was so young, and it happened so fast, and we didn't get to see our usual beloved dogtor when she got sick makes me feel like the drs she had didn't do enough to save her. please know that there are so many wonderful people in this great community who understand your loss and the pain you're going through. your little baby will always have a special place in your heart forever. love never dies. have comfort knowing that you have touched each others lives and hearts. hug your other babies, i'm sure they miss thier friend too. zowi had a very difficult time after nika's passing. i didn't leave her alone at all for a long time. she was really heartbroken too. when i cry i know that she knows why and is crying right along with me.my heart goes out to you through this difficult time, tears are falling. i'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and sending you a hug!
