| ![]() Hello all, I really need your help. I have a 2 year old peek-a-poo named Remy. Yesterday my fiance and I took him to the vet after we noticed that he was acting strange. Basically, he wasn't putting much weight on his back legs and was arching his back in a funny way. Remy just wasn't acting normal, so we carried him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disk Disease. I have never heard of this disease, and I have been researching it. The symptoms fit, but it was literally like he was fine one minute and the next he was obviously in pain. He was given a steroid shot by the vet, and they sent us home with a muscle relaxer and an NSAID. He seems to be in way less pain today, but I am still worried about him. If he doesn't respond appropriately to this medicine, surgery is our next option. We are college students; therefore, the cost of surgery is a scary thought. Hopefully, he will respond to the medicine. If anyone has any experience or knowledge about Intervertebral Disk Disease please help me out. I would really appreciate it! He is not just a dog to me; he is my baby. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much and God Bless!

| ![]() Go to www.handicappedpets.com They have a wealth of info there. There is a section for caregivers and similar to YT you can talk to others and ask for advise. I hope your baby will be ok. Please update to let us know how she is doing. Good luck. |
