If you notice the article even says, ""As they get older, and you know that they are healthy and you don't have any parasites, you could, again, stay away from the face, as far as licking and things like that, but if they want to sleep in the bed, that would be OK." There is really no danger from the dogs sleeping with us.....it is the fleas, worms, and viruses. So if our dogs have none of those things, there really is no more danger than a person. So far, my 3 dogs let me share their King sized bed and I am hoping they continue their generosity. ;) |
I have several that sleep in the bed with me and that is even after coming in for their last potty break of the night and I don't even wash their feet. My yorkies have been sleeping with me for years and I'm fine...wouldn't have it any other way. If, one has a mistake on the bed I take the comforter off the bed change to a fresh one and crawl right back into bed and we go back to sleep. I treat my yorkies as I did my child and grandchildren. Just get up, clean up and go back to sleep. All is good with yorkies in my bed. Never worried about anything. I'd kick hubby out of the bed before my yorkies ROFL Donna |
I am waiting for my Mother in law to bring this up, she is not a dog person and is always telling me stuff about dogs and having dogs in the house or in our bed. She dose seem to like Cookie ok and will let her sit by her. |

Over all, if you have a healthy immune system and your dog is also healthy, a dog sleeping in your bed posts no more danger than having one in your house. |

Bella has almost always slept with me. Jett will probably be sleeping with me too, he did last night, and all went well. |
For me is is very dangerous!!! I usually have to get up to the BR once a night. OMG it is always the same- Half of my little buggers come with me to make sure I am not sneaking a snack or meeting someone, jezz i don't know-- the other half all fall into the warm spot. They are totally snuggled in real tight when I get back, unwilling to give it up. I get a lot of GRRR's then the ones that followed me have to work their way back in also. So then it is musical chairs to see who gets the best spot. I seem to always lose ground and not have as much space either. |
