How many times per day does your Yorkie go out to potty? Random question. :) How many times a day do your Yorkie(s) go out to potty, typically? Jackson's schedule is pretty much: 9-10am - wake up and potty (pee and poop) 1pm - potty break again 5-6pm - usually pees and poops one more time 8pm - pees again 11pm-midnight - outside for the last time |
Max and Teddy are pad & outdoor users. Max poops twice a day, Teddy three times. I cannot begin to count the number of times they pee. :p |
Brit, I have never counted before!:D For one thing, it depends on how much water she's been drinking. For another, it depends on how many times we just decide to go out just for the heck of it and she'll go if she needs to then. Probably 8 or 9 times total. I like to go out and so does she. |
Many!!! LOL My little stinkers know they get a treat when they come back in from potty so they will FAKE going potty. They are pretty darn smart!!! :p |

Lexie does the "fake pee" thing too sometimes lol, just a few drops then comes to me all excited..had me worrying something was wrong with her for a minute. Anyway all i know for sure is she pees and poops first thing in the morning but during the day she's just a blur it seems like she pees a million times a day and poops maybe 3-4 |

As far as potty goes, I still take her out about every 2 to 3 hours.. And she always goes. And she only poops twice once in the morning and once mid afternoon. If she is really active then maybe a 3rd time but no more after that. |

Callie has a doggie door so she goes out whenever she needs to go potty so she has her own little schedule. |
Darwin & Mabel's schedule: 8:30am - poop & pee 12:00pm - pee 5:30pm - poop & pee 12:00am - pee (sometimes poop) I have been able to leave them longer at times, but for their sakes I try to keep them on a regular schedule. They are strictly walked and we don't use pee pads at all. Glad you asked this question as I've been curious about other dogs schedules. |
Here is the schedule for my two: 6:30 am: Wake up, go immediately outside to go potty. 7:15 am: Out one last time before work. 12:00 pm: Daddy comes home for lunch to let them out and play fetch. 3:30 pm: I get home and let them out. 4:15 pm: Out another time to hang out outside when it's nice outside. 5:30 pm: Out again after dinner. 7:00 pm: Out another time. 10:00 pm: One final time before bedtime. Wow, they go potty a lot. I think I am just concerned about Khloe pottying. For a while there, she was pottying on the rug by the kitchen sink, so I am trying to make sure she gets out enough. She also uses potty pads, but she really enjoys rugs as well  |
My guess is Kaji pees 5 times and poops twice a day. I wish I knew, I liked it better when everything was scheduled. Kaji pees at 4:30-6 am. Then again at 10-11 am. Sometimes not even then. Then again at 5 pm when I get home. Sometimes there is a poop, sometimes there isn't. He pees again around 8-10 pm. Sometimes he poops at 10 sometimes after 12. It's so random. |

Levi goes out to potty probably 5-6 times a day. He wakes up at 6:30 on the dot every morning to go out. My brother usually walks him mid-morning and early afternoon while I am in class or at work. Then he goes out again around 5:30, 8, and 11:30 PM. |
I'm home with Snickers all the time, so I generally take him out every two hours. He (unfortunately) does not give us any signal that he wants to go out, so I just take him out a lot to avoid accidents in the house. He gets a lot of water from his food and he plays A LOT, all day long, so he seems to need to go a lot too. He CAN hold it for 8 or 9 hours at least, over night..he prefers to sleep in and is in no rush to go outside in the morning. He will give you the evil eye if he is not ready to get up! |
Troy: 5:15am Out to potty Pee and Poop I'm off to work by 6. In crate during day with no accidents By 2:40 Out to potty Pee 7:30Pm out to potty Pee and Poop Good for the night unless he's had excessive water and snacks |
Pixie: between 5 - 6 am out to go pee and maybe poop Being my husband is unemployed Pixie goes to see him every two hours. She has a build in time clock as to when she need to go. Also at Noon between 4:30 and 5:30 pm 8:00 pm between 10 and 11 pm for the last time for the day. My problem with her right now is she'll pee outside everytime you take her. But, when it comes to pooping she may or may not poop outside. She seems to like my house for that duty laterly. |
I'm a stay at home yorkie Mom lol. I guess he goes out about every three hours |
I can't count the number of times Bailey and Jesse pee! They seem to pee alot, they don't go outside so maybe that makes a difference?. My bf's two larger dogs go pee outside, and they only go out about 3 times a day, sometimes only two! I don't know how they hold it for so long! |
Mine have potty pads and go for walks. Two times (first and last out of the day) just the back yard, two walks. Whenever they can sneak out (if we go out the back door for something). I do find little "presents" in the upstairs family room from time to time:rolleyes: |
Duke- Probably 3 or 4 times. He could probably hold it all day if needed, he has great bladder control. Piper- way too many times. I think she likes to just be outside so she will ring the bell to go outside every 45 minutes if we let her. Now that it is cold we are trying to get it down to once every couple of hours. At our house she is able to just go outside as we don't have much for a deck, but at my parents that deck was covered with snow and over Christmas break when I was homed and had to physically go outside with her and walk across the driveway to grass, I realized quickly how annoying every 45 minutes was. How if she rings the bell and has gone out recently we'll ignore it. If she really has to go, she'll go ring it again. Most of the time she will ring and then go play and act like she never rang it. |

Now that I think about it... he only does it when at her house. Every where else, he holds it like your boys do. |
Chloe probably pees 10 times a day- she CAN hold it, she does when we are traveling (she held it for over 12 hours when we flew this weekend- I gave her a couple of chances and she wouldn't go), visiting somewhere with no access to pads, or if she is crated for some reason (she hardly gets crated, but she will not soil one if she does). However, in those situations she usually has less access to water and I think that is part of the reason. At home, I see no need to withhold water- I know it does more harm than good- especially for a liver compromised dog. So I let her have as much water as she wants and therefore she pees ALOT. Both of mine have access to pads and use them reliably. I have three pads down around the house and they all get changed twice a day. I know people find them "gross" or think they are just a crutch for lazy small dog owners but to each their own I suppose. I find them to be a necessary part of my dog ownership. There is no way a person who needs to work full time outside the home could get a dog out 10 times a day, even with a walker. Armani goes less times per day but I still like that he can go whenever he chooses. |
