Wow...several years ago I had a precious Yorkie that was about 12-14lbs. I thought she was huge. Now I think she must have just been a little larger that normal. She had the best personality and was great for long walks. I really miss her...now I have a tiny bundle of energy that is 1.27lbs. (only 5 months old) What a difference in size.... |
Thats one big Yorkie:) |

A 44 lb yorkie, my goodness, this MUST go in "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" Now I can see Harvey pushing your GS off your lap lol,and your GS saying "YES SIR" lol. I do believe you DO have the BIGGEST Yorkie. |
A couple of weeks ago I was at the vet, an elderly man was there with a wee lil yorkie. Because Cody wanted to take on the entire waiting room of dogs he called a bit of attention to us. The tech took the wee one to the back for it’s shot, the elderly man asked me what breed Cody was:rolleyes: OMG, Cody is ONLY 12Lbs, he should have seen my gorgeous 17Lb girl, boy would I LOVE to borrow Harvey lol. I cannot believe ppl have never seen a yorkie over 5 Lbs. BLOOD was dripping from my mouth from biting my tongue not to him a snarky reply as I sweetly replied he’s a 12 Lb yorkie. |
Harvey is a true one off , I've written to the kennel club to confirm all his line were Yorkies . I'm glad he's so large though at 6ft 2 and 16 and half stone I'm not small and he suits me lol |

Yorkies were breed a lot bigger way back in the day. They are hunters and needed size to capture their pray. As time went on the Royal people of England wanted more of a fu fu dog, lap dog. So as breeding went on they would breed the runts of each litter. Didn't take too long to decrease their size. I saw a picture of my breeders great grandfather with 2 Yorkies that weighed 20lbs. They were gorgeous! Also, the larger Yorkies back then seemed to be a lot healthier. |

3 Attachment(s) This is Jax, one of my fosters. He weighs 14 pounds and is drop dead gorgeous. He has thick, soft hair and is like a big teddy bear to me. He has a bit of an attitude problem, but I love him to pieces. He obviously had a terrible life before we got him. He was a matted mess and had been hit by a car .. had a severe pelvic fracture. I have been thinking about adopting him as he is going to be difficult to place with his cujo act. LOL He can be pretty intimidating.... Attachment 410429 Attachment 410430 Attachment 410431 |

If the pictures are any indication, he has come light years under your obviously excellent care! Jax is a beautiful little bruiser and I'll bet with you, he thinks he is right where he belongs. |

LadyJane--Truly, you are nothing short of amazing. I believe you are one of those rare individuals who see what others don't and won't give up if there's any chance of making a difference. You're brave, kinda tough I think, determined, and did I mention A M A Z I N G?!!! You are Jax's miracle, for sure! |
