I went to pick up my little guy today and he looked awful. I wasn't even sure it was my Cookie when I saw him! His eyes looked like they were bulging out.He was so excited to see me and I drove like a mad woman to go and pick him up today. The good news is that they found no liver shunt so they got a biopsy and I should know soon. I feel so bad for putting him through this. I'm thrilled they didnt find a shunt but I feel terrible about this big scar :(
He's on pain meds so I know he will sleep well tonight. He's been super spoiled today! He's been in my arms wrapped in his blanky.
I took a picture of him tonight falling asleep on my bed.We go back in two weeks to get the stitches out.

Wow Genie that is great news! I am sure that he will be ok in no time, just give him plenty of love and kisses. Hoping for a speedy recovery. Pebbles and Gaby send him lots of wet kisses. :getwellso

I am so happy for you both. It has been three weeks since Matise's surgery and his scar is healing very well. So don't fret soon you will get the stitches out then you won't hardly even be able to see it. I know it is as if they shave them practily bald then almost cut off their winky, poor little guys. Spoil him rotten! He deserves it. Hugs and kisses to that precious baby boy. Take care. :getwellso

How hard that is, I know! I've been through it twice with Simon (he has a reoccurring tumor). The incision will heal very fast and soon you he will be running around like crazy ;)
Give him lots of love, which I'm sure you are and tell him that he will be better in no time at all! Simon and Hallie send lots of kisses

Great news. No shunt. All of those cuddles will help him heal as well as your love. It's gonna hurt for awhile, but I'm sure he'll heal faster than you think. I just found the pic. He looks so little and sad in the pic and that is a long scar, but he's got the best mommy in the world to take care of him. :)

Bless his little heart Genie - I know you are so relieved but that is one pitiful picture of Cookie - Chanel and Cheri send him their biggest get well wishes and I send a big hug to you -

I know you must be so relieved and what great news he has no LS.....Poor little guy - that picture is heartbreaking but nice to see because now you know he'll be just fine right ?

How is Matise doing ? I hope he is doing much better. Cookie will stay on the prescription dog food for several weeks and get his Bile Acids retested. I'm sure they will go down since I've cut out all his treats like ham,cheese,egg,
The only treat I give him are plain cheerios ,like 5 of them. He would do backflips for those.

Congratulations on no liver shunt....thats wonderful but that picture is so pitiful....poor little guy...I hope he is feeling better tomorrow....spoil him rotten....he been through alot...keep us updated!!

awww poor little Cookie. i hope he feels better soon, and is back to his normal self. im really glad to hear that hes healthy and all okay now!!

Im glad that the vet didnt found any liver shunt. He looks so sad on the pic, but I know with all your loving and care he will be fine. Gucci sends him lots of puppy kisses and hugs.

Aw! poor baby he looks so fragile. Its great to know they did not find a shunt. I hope find out what it is though. :thumbup:

Oh he is such a precious little one it is breaking my heart. I hope he will be all right. You poor thing, it must have been so very hard but thankfully he is back in your loving arms. I just wish there was something to say to make it all better.

Poor ting looks so sad in the picture but at least no liver shunt. Lil Bear has one controlled by diet so it's not bad enough to need surgery. But lots of hugs and blanky time well help cookie feel better. Lil Bear and Moose send him little yorkie girl kisses and say :getwellso

He slept through the whole night quietly next to our bed in a playpen. I let him out in my room this morning and he walked around and circled my feet and was velcro to my PJ pants lol. He was acting like a cat that likes to rub themselves against your ankles lol. He's not trying to jump or scratch the stitches either. I think he realizes that he can't jump yet , he tries to stretch and he only stretches so far . I know he'll be back to normal really soon!

Thankgoodness he isn't trying to get at the stitches. Moose tried to get at her stitches after being spayed she had to get one of those cones...talk about sad looking LOL

ahhhh...poor poor baby....kiss his little scar for us. He looks so cute.....like helpless, I just wanna scoop him up squezze him!!! I am glad that he is ok tho.

BLESS HIS HEART! You know my mom's yorkie, Abbie's Daddy- Beau- had something similar... the vet told us it was parvo, no it was cancer, no it was such and such, when come to find out it was that they gave him to big of a dose of parvo in his parvo shot, he got sick and his intestine was swollen, causing him to throw up everything he ate! Don't lose Hope! He will be the same ol dog soon.

Hey Genie!

I am sooo glad Cookie is feeling better and that nothing is seriously wrong!

Get him healed up soon so you can come play at my house again!
