Does anyone know where the YorkieTalk meetup is going to be this year?

I didn't think they did one last year? The last I remember seeing was 2009.... I wonder if they will organize one for 2011!!

Oooh Italy would be fun! I think they had one last year in Virginia.

I think you're right. I think it was 2009. I think it would be a lot of fun. Have you ever gone?

Nope! I'd be interested in the future though. I've met up with some YT'ers locally, but never a "international" YT meet up.

ohhh-- that would be fun... how about a pet friendly cruise (like that could happen)

I think it's just way too expensive. :( Hopefully there will be one in the MI, OH, or IN area someday though. :)

If anyone (or a group) is intrested in planning and coordinating a meetup, contact Admin. The last meetup was in Alexandria, VA in 2009. We had an incredible time. If I remember correctly over 70 humans and over 100 dogs in attendance. Most of us stayed in either the Sheraton Suites Old Town or in a local RV park. It was truly an International event -- Sheilagh, aka Saphire came from South Africa, Mike, aka AlaskaYorkie came from Alaska with his lovely wifey, Kelly, and Eddie. And there were several members in attendance from Canada plus members from all over the USA.

I would totally make an effort to come and bring at least one furbaby- sounds fun!

If others are interested in planning I would be willing to be part of that group as well.

The 2009 one was awesome and I thankfully lived about an hour away, so it was really easy for me! I'd like to go to one again. Chip and Smokey were so tired after their long, fun weekend.

When the YT membership voted for Alexandria, Virginia for the 2009 meetup it was with the understanding that the 2010 International YorkieTalk meetup would be held somewhere on the West Coast. It seems like "West Coast" came to equal California. Unfortunately no one took over the vast responsibility of organizing the event.

I hope that someone will take on the task -- I've never been to farther west than Reno, NV and would love to see the "other ocean".

It WAS a huge amount of fun. I hope to get to meet even more of my YT family this year somewhere on the West Coast! Shoot, I'm going to start saving my :twocents:!

A group of volunteers needs to contact Admin to get the ball rolling. It will take now until summer to get it organized, and to give membership enough time to register and make travel plans.

Impressive! Wish Yorkies had come into my life a little sooner...since Alexandria is just down the road from me. :)
