Ok I am in a similar pickle. My friend who I swear gets an animal discovers how much work they are parts with one of the house members and then gets another one. She asked me last night where I got Mia I said and then realized dang it I shouldn't have done that. Mia weighs almost 3# on her birthday night, way to fine boned to get very rough with and not expect injuries. I suspect this is some kind of a bribe or competition with her daughters father. Very sad. I know the puppy could land into a much worse home but can honestly say this would not be a great place gto be, She has adopted from the human e society say a springer spaniel had it for months on end and then decides it is too hyper for her 1500 sq ft home. I told her that one needed to run and have space. SO what should I do or not do. She is my granddaughters mother and has a lot of weight if I get to see her.

but going from home to home to home..i worry about the pup for that reason...i would have hoped they would have contacted me when things werent working out and let me handle it as requested...

im not one to sue but i had hoped the contract would have been enough and after all the time we spoke i would have thought they would have contacted me first ..

hmmm -

I would be willing they sold the dog to "make ends meet." But I also wonder if they sold the dog for more than they paid you and maybe realize this could be a money maker for them. Either way, they can't be very bright if they think you would sell them another one of your babies after what they did.

I would pursue legal action as well, but that is costly so maybe it isn't an option.

I had a horrid thought. Was the pup sold on a spay/neuter contract? Did they "rehome" the pup before the spay/neuter was done to get around that? I hate being so suspicious of people the "can't feed it, but want to buy another dog" story doesn't ad up.

It makes no sense at all that anyone would not be able to buy food or pay for routine vaccines and then turn around and ask if they can buy another pup. They even said "well we would like to try again with a better knowledge of preparing for everything." It is not uncommon for a Yorkie owner to wind up with a one year old that still is having accidents. I think house-training problems is the number one rehoming reason for Yorkies. I am betting this has a lot to do with this situation. Of course, they should never get another one of your pups. I would take the contract and reclaim my pup too. You need to establish that you are serious about that portion of your contract and you need to rehome the little one in a home YOU have checked out. It will also give you a chance to see if there is any other reason the owners may not have wanted to keep him.

I understand not wanting to move the puppy around again- why not just ask to speak with/ meet the new family- this way you can feel better knowing you know where your puppy is without having to move them again.
