breeding Lexie'smom...I do not feel there is anything wrong in breeding a litter of pups if you want. You are caring and careful..learning, talking to the vet. I know you will be careful and seek vet care for ny problem. I have a problem with commerical breeders and brokers. Also, a breeders who skimps on care to make a dollar. Good Luck |
Hey Brownies mom, I'm sorry about my post. I also don't want to upset anyone. I love this site and I guess because I also want to breed Bell someday, I was a little insulted, I also have adopted dogs from the pound and I must say some of them were the best dogs! I guess why I was taken back is beacuse I would like to think that we all know how many unwanted dogs and puppies get put down each day because of stupid Owners. I didn't feel your website was justified!! Because we're all smarter than that!!! :p Once again Sorry for upsetting everyone!! |
I'm not at all offened. I just want to clear up though. My husband and I have always planned to have a large family, but after my second daughter I was told I couldn't have anymore children. My youngest started Kindergarten this year so I thought now would be the perfect time to start our Yorkie family. We origanlly planned on 2 maybe 3. Lexi means so much and we love taking care of her so much that we decided we would like to have several little Yorkies running around. After her first litter she will be spayed and all the pups will be fixxed. We have a huge house, and an even bigger fenced in yard. These puppies will be our babies. |
Good for you! Wish I could have many too! But even though my hubby loves Bell I think I'm probably lucky if I can persuade him to get one more. Gosh I'm jealous! |
Tricia - this is exactly what happened to me. We had planned on having a very big family and after the tramatic birth of my daughter I was unable to have any more children. So, now we have Sandy and Tia :) Quote:

~Tricia~ some years ago, my wife brought home a small ferry, fuzzy little thing she said was a yorkie;it wasn't long until it had to have a companion,so now two yorkies.the first came from show parents and was beautiful, but we had both spade,so no showing;anyway from there we grew to 12 of these loving, amusing, gentle creatures;even now we have four new pups;so just be careful or you're end up with more than you planed on;they are hard to let go. jerry |
My Missy whom is 7 yrs old and retired had 2 the first litter, one was dead. then she had 3 all ok, next she had 4, and next she had 3 . Good litters for her. Hope my other girls do as good. :aimeeyork |
Sorry in advance if I offend anyone! I think there is nothing wrong in breeding your own pups. Its your own choice. I understand completely there are pups without homes but those are not your fault. If your responsible it wouldn't come to that. Its like saying there are foster kids out there and that means everyone shouldn't have their own child. It doesn't make sense. Irresponsible breeders end up having their pups in shelters. Responsible breeders know they have homes and will make the effort to take care. You can't force people to adopt shelter dogs. Yes people should help if they can but they shouldn't be forced to fix another persons neglect as wrong as I may sound. Again don't get me wrong and be offended but many people just prefer a just born pup to bring into their home and love. Shelter dogs need homes too but it was the original breeder who should have took more care. Every dog needs a home. Even the ones in the stores, bred or shelters... :animal-pa |

This breaks my heart and makes it happy all at the same time. I'm glad you will have little ones to share your love with. |
Keyra and Teegy, do you know you are responding to posts made over eight years ago in 2005? Just wondering... |
Just as a side comment... The record for most puppies in a littler was 24, by a Neopolitan Bull Mastiff called Tia, in Manea in Cambridgeshire. WHEW ! Keep in mind you have a Yorkshire, so... EXPECT ANYTHING ! :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 |
