Missing Yorkie Mom
 
I got a call today from a girl, asking me about how to hand feed her Yorkie babies. They are 4 weeks old and the Mom ran out the door this afternoon and has not been found.

I've been so worried for this little Yorkie (Prissy) ever since. The weather has been so nasty today, with rain and some sleet. I just can't get this little girl out of my mind.....lost and cold, scared, missing her babies.

Prissy, be safe and please let your Mommy know where you are.

I sure hope Prissy comes home really soon - what an awful situation. Best of luck trying to take care of the pups - maybe you could talk with a vet or shelter to see if there is a mother that would be able to nurse them in the mean time. Take care!

I feel so bad for little Prissy. I am saying a prayer that she will be back home soon, and if she is out in the weather, someone will take her in and keep her safe until she is returned home.

Updates? Did they find the mom? How are the puppies doing? I agree, I will worry about Prissy to, until we hear something.

Oh my that is so sad. I would think she would be wanting her babies. I hope if someone picked her up, that they realize she has puppies and turns her in.

The good thing is, at 4 weeks, the puppies can eat on their own.

I spoke with Prissy's owner and still no Prissy :(. They've been canvassing the neighborhood and I gave what tips I could think of to help locate her. I hope she's inside somewhere and safe.

The pups are doing well. She was able to get them to take a bottle. Luckily they are 4 weeks old and there's only 2. I think she'll be able to take care of them and they should be able to start eating on their own soon.

I'll post an update when I hear anything. Thanks to everyone for keeping Prissy in your thoughts.

Yeah, I think she would be frantic for her pups. There's so many folks that would hang on to any found Yorkie, but anyone can see she's a nursing Mom. Hopefully, if she's been found, they'll do the decent thing.

The pups were still nursing 100% but are now being bottle fed. I'll be staying in touch to make sure the pups are ok and for any news on Prissy.

I will be waiting to hear the good news when Prissy is reunited with her pups, but meanwhile I will continue to pray.

Maybe it's me but isn't it kind of unusual for a mom to run out on her puppies. Usually they don't leave their babies except to do her business and eat. I could be wrong though.

Hope everything turns out ok. I'm afraid people see a yorkie they don't care that it's someones dog all they see is a FREE yorkie. Praying she gets home soon.

Yes and when they see she is a nursing Mommy, They will see dollar signs. I just feel sick for her

At 4 weeks they will be OK with staying away for an hour or two, but then they want back in with them. so I am thiking someone has picked her up. Hopefully the will realize that she is nursing and turn her in to the local shelter.

Oh my gosh Jim :(. So sad. I hate thinking of her in the cold. Do you think her maternal instinct will help drive her back home? (as long as she's not injured or something)
