Bill I'm so sorry for your loss Bentley. I know this was very hard for you todo.

I;m going thru the same thing with my 13 yr old going on 14 with the Collasping Trachea, she isn't at the point yet of Bentley but she is getting close and I do dread that. As I just lost one of my babies in October.

I'm glad to hear your getting another one. When I lost my Molly in October, I adopted a 5 year old about 3 weeks later as I knew the 2 I still had don't have that much longer and I couldn't not be without a Yorkie.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Please come back and let us know about the new baby you will be getting.

Bless you for putting him before your own feelings. It is hard to let them go but it is the humane thing to do.

Thanks for the support all of you who sent such kind messages. Bentley was put to sleep yesterday at 4:10, very peacefully and quickly, with my wife, myself, and even the vet crying afterwards. You could see in his eyes he was glad to be at rest and not having to struggle so to breathe, and not being able to move.

But we are getting right back on the wagon! We are going to Canada Tuesday to the same breeder where We got Bentley 14 years ago. She says she has all sorts of puppies available, some of them relatives of the same sire as Bentley. We'll never forget that great dog, Bentley. Hope the new one is just as happy and lively and typical Yorkie fun.

God Bless you and your wife, for letting Bentley go, peacefully and painlessly.

Safe trip to Canada on Tuesday. I'm sure your breeder will have the right puppy to ease the pain in your hearts.

I'm sure your new baby will be just as happy and playful as Bentley. And no, you won't ever forget Bentley. It is such a tribute to him, that you want another.

Bill - I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is a tough decision, but from the sounds of it, Bentley is no longer suffering.

Have a safe trip to Canada and can't wait to see pictures of the new pup!

I'm so very sorry. Bentley is at peace now and no longer suffering. I'm happy to see you are planning on getting another puppy. A new puppy really helps to heal a broken heart.

So sorry, Bill, for your loss. If only we could figure out how to help these canine babies live long, healthy human-length lives! I am one to replace a beloved pet quickly, too. It always helps. Enjoy picking a new little one, and Happy Holidays.

So sorry to hear that you are going through this. I had to make that decision this past June for my Oscar. He wasn\'t getting any better and there was no hope in site. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make. I had to think about Oscar\'s quality of life. He was wasting away and seemed like he just gave up. The vet agreed with me and didn\'t question my decision. You\'ll be kept in my prayers.
