Sleeping arrangements I woke up this morning laying on my right side. Pippin was sleeping on my pillow above my head, her little body plastered around the top of my head. Chelsea was in her usual spot, on her back with her side pressed up against my chest and her head pillowed on my arm. Alexander was curled up in the bend of my waist/hips/thighs. Keagen was stretched out all along the front of my shins. The bottoms of my feet were snuggled along Tate's back (he sleeps under the covers ). Maddox was tucked in the bend of my knees. Jordy had his back pressed up against my back. And little Murphy was laying on top of me, on my left side. Needless to say, I was warm and toasty all night long. ;) This is a pretty normal sleeping routine at my house. I usually wake up like this or in similar positions. What are the sleeping arrangements like at your house? :D I want to add: YES, I do have a king size bed. There's plenty of room in the bed for them to sleep somewhere else....they just won't do it. :p |
Here all three of us have to be touching, they both need to be curled up in such a way that they are touching me AND touching each other  This is fairly new and resulting in very little sleep for me, they always seem just fine! Chloe used to sleep on the pillow next to me and that was much more comfortable- I think she has joined her brother under the covers because it is getting colder. But I must say while I am awake staring at the ceiling all night, it is very nice to have my babies curled up next to me :p |
Bonny, I hope that is a CALIFORNIA king size bed. :p Max takes the "top dog" position near my head or chest with my arm wrapped around him. Teddy either curls up next to him or near my feet. Sometimes they trick me and change positions during the night. |
Two under the covers, one on my pillow and one against my feet to start then we spend the rest of the night arguing who gets cloest to Mom. By morning I am hanging off the side of the bed and everyone else is stretch out and oh so comfortable. No I don't have a king size bed but I sure wish I did! |

Natalie sleeps attached to my back or butt, or bend of my knees usually with her blanket over her. She expects me to put it over her whereever she decides to sleep so she is snuggly and warm. Charlie is in his cage all snuggly and warm (he don't care to sleep with me anymore and hasn't for a long time. :( ) |
Scooter use to sleep right by my side all night long until Sadie came home with me. Scooter has now decided that he has to sleep in his bed at the foot of my bed. Sadie, however, must be right next to me all night long. Sometimes I wake up with her on my head. I would not have it any other way, I am lost without my babies. I have tried to get Scooter back in the bed with me but he has become so independent that he wants to be a big boy now. |
I couldn't believe it, when I read your post! The first night I had Muffin, she slept in bed and when I woke up she was on my pillow wrapped around the top of my head, too. That was the only time that ever happened! I'm sure you don't need any extra blankets with all of that lovely fur all over you!:D Kacee usually sleeps next to my face and neck area, but if she gets hot she'll get on top of the covers. Next, if she gets cold there, she will snuggle up as close to me as she can get.:) |
Reading this made smile and really happy for you. I can tell how much your babies love their mommy. Gracie always slept on my pillow at the top of my head. Somehow I got used to a stiff neck many times a week and her somewhat soft bark resonating in my ear. For years Ashley slept across my neck. She fit under my chin as a baby but seemed to like that spot even as she grew bigger. When she got older, she slept in my arms with her head resting in my chest. Kiwi was also closely hugging my body. Although Ashley was the least dominant of the three, they seemed to respect that she was there first (by only four months with Kiwi and a year with Gracie) and let her have her first pick of where she was sleeping. I loved picturing all of your babies sleeping close to their mom. It must be difficult for you to get up when you need to. Often times I'd wait to get up for something when they were sleeping peacefully because I hated to wake them up. As soon as I was back in bed with them, they went back to sleep. I loved seeing them peaceful and content sleeping, especially when they would lie on their backs with their bellies exposed. |
Did I count right -- you have 8 pups sleeping with you? :D Love it! I have only 3, but they too, have to be plastered up to me and little Annie is always on me. She likes to wrap round my neck, but as she has grown I try to keep her from doing that as I wake feeling suffocated and her hair goes up my nose. But she will still lie on my chest or legs. I will remember you the next time I am feeling a little crowded by my 3 -- and realize I have all the room in the world in comparison. The funny thing is.... if one of them gets up at night, I wake up. I know someone is missing immediately and can't go back to sleep until they roam back in and take their place. |
Omg that's a lot of fur blankets. lol I had to go back and count on my fingers how many you had. I almost ran out of fingers. At my house, Nikki sleeps right next to my head on one side, Cali starts out on the other side of me from then ends up at my feet. Pixie and Roxie sleep in their snuggle beds at the end of the bed but not on my side of the bed. |
T and I each start out in our own beds. By 1 a.m. I usually wake up and can't get back to sleep right away, so to keep from waking George I get up and go climb in my recliner. T throws a fit if I go in another room so she end up curled up on my chest. I usually wake up a few minutes before the alarm clock with her tucked under my chin. |
I don't think it will be long before Cody ends up in our bed, I remember my wife would always make comments about people kissing their dogs on the mouth and how she would never want a dog in the house or on the bed….. Well needless to say since Cody has joined our family she has changed her tune! I think Cody gets more kisses then me and she allows him in bed when she is watching TV so I figure it will not be long before she suggests he sleep with us.... |
It's like you're in the middle of a huge yorkie sandwich! How delicious! Wylie is a traveler...he usually starts out on the foot of the bed (cuddling w/ his 2 socks), but then he'll be often be unpredictable and fall asleep in one of the round beds, or up btwn our pillows, or under the covers. Marcel usually sleeps by me, and is often under the covers after only a little while. I hate getting up in the morning, bc he is still sleepy...but he always feels he MUST get up with me for morning kisses...and then I put him back to bed w/ hubby. Pfeiffer loves to sleep under the covers, curled up w/ Tony, bc he's so nice and warm...but then once in a while, she wants to sleep with her Mama too :).This morning, I woke up, and there she was btwn me and hubby...laying on her side, with the covers pulled up just to above her shoulders...like a little person. SO cute! |
Our sleeping arrangements are pretty similar. Dh and I have a king sized bed and Couver loves to sleep under the blanket by my chest and Khloe likes to sleep between my legs to make sure that I can't move. I wouldn't have it any other way :) |
Wow, Bonny, 8 furry cuddlers, I am so jealous. I only have 4, and they rotate around the bed thru the night. I definitely have room for a few more though. |
LOL...'Eight is Enough', eh? (Who here remembers that show? I think I just dated myself!) :) Wow, I bet that means a LOT of lead separators! 0_o In Alaska, there's a child's story called the 6-Dog Night...it basically talks about how many dogs you need sleeping on the bed with you when it gets bitterly cold in winter. I think it was on Reading Rainbow years ago. Jenna has always wanted to be an 'on the bed' dog ever since we got her this spring. But when she first came home, she was supposed to be my daughter's dog, so we kept her in a penned area in the kitchen so they'd have an opportunity to bond. Unfortunately, she was also a climber, so it wasn't hard for her to vault the pen sides and then you'd hear the little 'ticky-ticky' of toenails on the floor headed your way....those big brown eyes became harder and harder to resist. Now that she's basically my dog, and follows me everywhere, nappy time has to be wherever mummy is. This means in a cuddly cup on the chair in the kitchen, or in the computer chair behind me, or on/in my bed: blankets and pillows are all fair game here. She did start off by sleeping at the foot...then moved gradually up the bed until she got to around the top of my head on the pillow one night, (much to my cat's chagrin), but now she has to be under the blankets where she can get at my kneecaps, which get a thorough washing each night before she passes out. (It's part of what puts her to sleep, works better than a bedtime story!) :) The worst part for me is I am instantly awake any time she moves, for fear of crushing her. And when she has to get up around 2 AM for a drink of water, I have to get up with her since she won't go by herself. :( And she used to growl at the cats if they tried to get up on the bed too, but she found it's more effective to pick out a toy and go with it in her mouth, tail wagging furiously, for a play invite. That gets rid of the cats fast! The looks on their faces are priceless as they scarper! Eh...it's all good. Jenna and I would be lost without each other now. The little quirks turned into perks rather easily. |
Made me smile when I read about your furry blanket. lol I'm jealous as mine sleep in their expen. Hubby doesn't like furbabies in bed. :( I was shocked when we recently went out of town and spent the night in a hotel, he actually called Maggie up onto the bed and then he wound falling alseep and lo and behold the 2 of them got to spend the night in bed. But then I had a restless night because I was so afraid of rolling over onto them. I keep waking up and in turn kept waking them up. lol Hot Rod was not too amused at having his sleep disturbed 10 times thru the night. lol |
Ringo likes to sleep at the foot of the bed ~ then gets pi$$ed if your feet accidentally kick him. Slowly, I've been moving him forward so he's not near my feet. Lucy has to be right smack up against me - either my back or stomach depending on which way I've turned. Lately, Ringo has turned up his nose at sleeping with me and chooses to sleep in my son's bed; where he always slept as a pup. |

Max was a year old before he started sleeping in my bed. He preferred his xpen -- and the door had to be closed. |
Our bed is really crowded. My Husband has the yorkies all snuggled up to him and I have 2 6 month old cats and 3 10 wk old kittens laying on me, next to me and arournd me and I cant move. They are cute but sometimes I would love to stretch. If I take a nap on the couch they do the same thing |
Isn't it wonderful Bonny???? ♥♥♥!! Your Pippin sounds like AprilLove, she too loves to sleep on my head!!! Now, everytime I read one of your posts, you have another furbaby, I don't recognize Keagan? Spill it sister!!!! When did you add another lovbug???? Pictures???? |
You have lots of little cuddle bugs to keep you warm at night Bonny!!! :p Jesse prefers to lie down against my shoulder, close to my face, Bailey always taps me on my arm to lift the blanket up for him and he cuddles up by my tummy, if I roll over on my other side both of them will move to the opposite side with me! I would miss them so much if I didn't have them with me at night. |

Keagan is the little boy I adopted from Yorkie Haven Rescue several months ago. I've talked about him some here on YT, but I probably used a different name. Poor little guy.....he's been through so many different names while I tried to find the *right* one. Keagan still isn't quite right for him either, but I couldn't put him through one more name change. :p |
Princess sleeps in her kennel-she loves it when she's ready for bed if it's before we put her to bed...she just goes in herself and goes to bed. Elvis has a bed under my bed-I don't like him sleeping on the bed my bed is very high off the floor and I'm afraid he will either fall off or get squished at night... Scoobers has a bed in my son's room that he sleeps in almost every night he wakes my son up for school with kisses when the alarm goes off. We actually have a couple dog beds in every room in the house and they all routate throughout the day and some nights with them... I actually have to keep my dogs separated as Elvis has seizures and I don't trust them home alone or when we're sleeping to be unsupervised-instincts are instincts and the ill get weeded from the pack... |
So nice to know that everybody sleeps with their "pack". My little one when it's bed time, she goes to her bed and she waits for me to call her a couple of times to come to my bed. I think she likes me begging her. Since I put a small pillow right next to mine she sleeps to her pillow as long as she can feel me. My older one starts from the bottom of my bed and by the morning she is all over my face. At 7:30 she starts licking my face so I wake up and feed them both. Maria |
Sandy sleeps with us on the bed. He likes to sleep right next to hubby or in hubby's arm. Sometimes I'll find him hiding under the duvet with his nose sticking out. There are times I found him sleeping on my pillow right next to my head. |
Bedtime at our house is a ritual!! I take Bella and Sandy outside for their last bathroom break - Murphy is normally already in bed and doesn't want to be disturbed as is Panda, the cat, now that it has turned cold. If Murphy has to potty in the middle of the night, he will get up and go outside via doggie door. I'll get in bed (after moving Murphy over a little bit - he is usually on my pillow), Bella settles into the small of my back. Sandy will start out on the floor but by morning will have found a spot on the bed. HUBBY is on his 1/8th of the bed....sometimes he just gives up and gets on the couch! He's a sweetheart though and never complains!! |
