| ![]() So I crated Gatsby when he was a puppy but by the time he was about 5 months old I put the crate away and never looked back. he was using the potty pad all the time and going outside about every 4 hours. Now a year and a half later he is peeing on the new carpet. I went to get his crate and realized it was to small, (it is a small cat crate for travel) so i went on craigslist and got a nice small crate that fits him nicely and as a added bonus it has two doors one on the side and one in the front. well I'm having to completely re-crate train him. but the really funny thing is that when i try and get him in the front door he will cry and scream from the start and never settle down. he hates it. but when i put him in the side door he will go right in and lay down he only starts to cry when he realizes that im not coming to get him. I wondered if any other yorkies with two door crates prefer one door over the other.

| ![]() Harley doesn't matter, I use the side door, but he knows when it's bed time cause I grab his water and a few toys and put them in the crate, then he runs away. I feel your pain, Harley has been reliable for like 3-4 months and two weeks ago his training feel apart. we're back to night time crate training, it seems to be enough.

| ![]() Sophie Kate uses the front door except if the cat is in the crate taking a nap then she slides in the side door and runs him out of her bedroom.

Doesn't matter what door I use to put them in they run to the other to get out LOL except Princess she loves her crate she goes in and naps in there on her own and at bed time she readily goes in as she is tired. I'll post pics in my Yorkie items album as soon as I get the pic token issue worked out Please wait Image not available |
