WILLINGLY getting out of bed at 2.30 because Fynnlie needs to tinkle. Even if it's 28 degrees outside. |
A first for me: Talking baby "woobie wewh" to a doggie That's the big one at my house. My boyfriend laughs everytime. He thinks I love them more than him (he might be a little right but just microscopic ... I PROMISE) |
I agree -- great thread. I relate to many of the posts. Here are some of mine: 1. Brushing a tiny dog's teeth twice a day. 2. Home cooking dog meals 3. Wearing a front pack carrier daily. It's like a kangaroo pouch, and Tatiana is in it, sticking her head out. 4. Paying for the pet fees for airline flights, i.e. flying with my dog. Also, her travel luggage is BIGGER than mine. She has more belongings that I do. :) 5. I clean my floors more often because I think it's more sanitary for Tatiana. She's tiny and close to the ground, so I want the floors clean. :) The list goes on, but I'll stop here. |
How about this? Our grown children are jealous of out Yorkie, Daisy. We have told them that she is now first on our Will, so they might want to start being a little nicer to their "sister", because they will be having to come to come to Daisy for their inheritance. |

Trimming bum hair, washing his face and brushing his teeth regularly, picking out eye snot. Giving up a large section of my living room for his rug and toys to provide him his own comfy space. |
Here's mine! Drive 40 miles to the groomer my doggies love instead of finding a new one close to where we live now. Carry Skeeter the rest of the way home because he gets tired half-way through there walk. Sneek a dog into Walgreens because I refused to leave her in the car. Admit to being a crazy dog lady when my co-workers call me one. Bring one more yorkie into the house because she needs a home. Fall in love with all the yorkies on YT. Consider people on a message board friend. Honestly! I love the people I have met here and some of them are really special to me! And oh yeah, I can say I do all of the ones listed by everyone! Sigh. I'm hooked. |
I have done almost everyone on all the list. Sleep with three dogs, plan outings so the dogs are not home too long when I can't take them(they NEED their walks!!), watching my husband being wrapped around one little 3 1/2 pound girl's paw - and he only likes BIG dogs (right) But... the one I will add to the list. I post more pictures of my Remy, Bailey and Sammy on Facebook that I do of my humane family. I say the reason is because they don't threaten me to take the pictures off like my girls do lol |
I love this thread :D Things I thought I'd never do? - Buy a dog this many toys - Buy a dog a jumper more expensive than I would buy for myself (lol) - Let him sleep in my arms like a baby and try not to wake him, even if I need the toilet - Get up an hour earlier when I hate the mornings to walk him - Worry at even the smallest thing, like hiccups! I didn't know what they were the first time he had them - Love him more than I thought I could love a little, furry beast :) Awwwww x |
There are to many things to list that I thought I wouldn't do....but I never in a millions years ever thought I would see my husband give a belly zerbert to our Yorkie!!! |

OMG I am so glad this thread was brought back up! I just sat and read all of it! Because my babies woke me up early fighting over who got to lay closest to me :) (not something they do often, they normally let me sleep as late as I like, which is probably my favorite thing about them) I'll add some/repeat some that are big for me. -Have a litter box/pee pad for my dogs in the house (which allow me to sleep later because they don't need to go out, so part of that is for me?) -I always liked dog clothes but when I was little we usually had big outside dogs with lots of fur so clothes weren't very practical. Now I find them very practical because they get cold :( but mostly because they are cute. -Look through baby sections at stores for preemie/new born t-shirt/dresses. (which are really hard to find without the onsie buttons) -MAX out ALL of my credit cards (including applying for new ones to max out) for my 3.5lb baby to have LP surgery AS SOON as I found out she needed it. -Fighting with my BF about NEEDING to buy dog clothes. -Him telling me they don't need clothes when we are in the baby section and I am looking for a polo shirt. Then telling him that Somi needs clothes because she gets cold. And wouldn't you rather she was wearing a neutral colored polo shirt if you take her somewhere instead of a frilly pink dress. And him saying well either way she'll be adorable.......all I had to say was my point was proven. :) [sad to say they didn't have a polo small enough, I'm still on the lookout though] -Have to agree SOO much about not going out because I need to stay home with my "babies" -I used to get mad at my mom for calling "my replacement" (she got a maltese after I went to college) my sister. No I call her my yorkies "Angel" (my nephew gave her the grandma name Angel becaue it thought it was funny to not say what we wanted him to). And I call her dogs my sisters and their aunts. And many more things that were already mentioned that I can totally relate to!! :) |

First of all i thought i would never have a yorkie. It took my wife two years of saying plzzzzz.Heide then had her way and we went and got Gabby.I told Heide do not expect me to walk her ever. Well here r things I thought I'd never do until I got a yorkie: *thought I would never say come give Daddy a kiss . *thought I would never say let Daddy brush you. *thought I would never walk her all dressed up or walk her peroid. *thought I would never carry on a conversation with Gabby. *thought I would never tell my daughter that Gabby is her sissy. *thought I would never Kiss a dog. *thought I would never sit around thinking bout my Gabby when she is not around. *thought I would never feel like I would have to protect gabby from everything. I know I am missing many others.I am just glad my wife talked me into getting our baby.I love this little girl sooo much. |
I got married 2 weeks ago and I had a friend get my boys, bring them to us during the photography hour so that I could get pictures of my husband & I on our wedding day with our fur kids! Never thought Id put a blanket over me whenever I sat down so my fur kids could go under all the time, they both love being covered up and warm when they sleep. Pull poop and hair out of a bum when it's dangling because they ate my hair. Add water to their food because they like it that way, or hand feed them because they will eat when I do. Take my dogs on vacation with me because I can and because I can't bear the thought of being away from them for more than 1 week max! Put clothes on my dogs to keep them warm. Fence in an entire yard to keep them safe. There is so much I never thought I'd do before I had Yorkies. Its amazing actually! |

so many things I never thought I would do yes, examine poo, and wipe her clean after she does her business dress up my little girl in tutus and southern style dresses pay 3x's as much for Lola's airline ticket than for mine Drive close to 100 miles each way to attend a yorkie party, because Lola likes to play with other dogs Host a yorkie party which means I have to take up all my furniture, put down plastic covering over all the carpet, then rearrange the furniture to make a better play area for the yorkies. Then put everything back when the party is over Search the internet for hours picking out the perfect holiday dress or yorkie related item. Stress for hours over which pattern of fabric and style of bow I should buy for her next custom made outfit Spend more on her hair products than I do on my own. Shower with Lola Have more pictures of her than anyone else combined on my camera and on Facebook Chase people down if it looks like they have a yorkie when they walk by my house, because I am always searching out a play date for my little girl. Spend $200.00 to move our dock and hoist to a different part of our lake front, because Lola loves to swim and the dock and hoist currently sit in the best swim area Spend hours talking about Lola with my husband. |

Hmm, suprised Heide has not showered with Gabby yet.Doesyour little one like showers over baths? Wow, sounds like a lot of work to have a yorkie party. That's great to be able to find a party for only yorkies. I see your from MI,I used to live in MI. Some of my family live in Dearborn. OMG.... Heide and I have so many pics on our phone and FB of Gabby also. |
