| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | First of all ,the member did contact the vendor and the vendor told them that they must spend $75.00 to recieve the $25.00 worth of free merchandise. In other words, the certificate is more like a coupon worth $25.00, if you buy $100 worth of products. The Room Store gives these out weekly in the mail, these are not prizes. I feel strongly that this type of gift should not be allowed, and wanted to know how others felt. If enough people believe this is wrong, maybe admin will change the policy and only allow prizes that people don't have to buy.

| I think it's very misleading for someone to "donate" a gift certificate, but really you have to spend money to redeem. To me, that's just not fair and is misleading not only to the members, but to Admin as well.

| That is truly horrible. I guess I missed about donating a prize for the contest or I would have donated. I would be happy to donate a $25 gift certificate to M'Lady's Dog Bows to any winner who got one of the bogus prizes. No strings attached. |

| Has anyone PMd the admin? This is so sad....I really hate to see anything negative with regards to the Halloween contest. It is one of my favorite things on YT.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes they have, but I don't know admin's policy on this, and wanted to know if others felt this was wrong too. Like you, the Halloween contest is one of my favorite things, and I realize no one does it for the prize, but it does make it more exciting. I just think this isn't fair to the prizewinners and the other vendors who actually give out what they say they will.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | LOL, I hope there's a band attached! That's very generous of you! Perhaps this thread may change the vendors mind.

| i think that's awful! i hope that's fixed and soon. my prize comes free of all charges and it comes to them shipped for free too...and on top of that she gets to pick out the fabric she wants to have used to make it....that's a prize...a coupon is not a prize donation. |

We do believe all prizes should have no strings attached at all. We will be contacting this member that donated the prize. We will make it right for the members who won these prizes and will get it all straightened out as soon as we can. | |

| I have been out of touch and did not get a chance to do the halloween prize thingy. But I do agree with the others, a prize is something won, not something you should have to pay for, jmo. I am working on sweaters for next years raffle. Hopefully that will give me enough time to finish several sizes off. School has been beyond demanding, so a year should be enough time! edited for : way to go Admin... |
