| Satch weighs 4.2 lbs!!!!!! I took Satch to the vets yesterday to have his shots and general lookover and about fell over when he weighed in at 4.2 lbs!!!!His is only 12 weeks old,my gosh how big is he going to get???? The doctor has me giving him 1/2 cup of wet food a day and leaving dry food out for him all the time.He has been taken off treats but once a day or one sm puppy bone broken and given throughout the day.I know that size cannot be strickly determined but I was told 5 lbs was all he would weigh at full growth!!Has this happened to you ?

| It is surprising how much a Yorkie can weigh and still look so small. My 12 week old weighs 2 pounds. However, they do loose some baby fat later. I wouldn't worry. Also, a little bigger of a Yorkie seems so much more sturdy. I took my 5 month old pups for their rabies shot last week and Mercedes weighs 5 pounds! Mavrick weighs 4.5 pounds. I am terrible with the Yorkie growth chart and wonder where those weights estimate mine to be full grown. I DO NOT leave food out for mine all the time, I think they'd weigh 3 times as much. Are you sure Satch needs the wet food? Does he chew the dry food up good? The wet allows them to gobble it down. I'd think about changing that. |

| Lili Lili weighed 3#10oz at 12 weeks and I thought she was going to end up beitng HUGE. She is now 7 months and about 6#. I think the growth charts said she was estimated to be 9# (off the chart) but I don't think she is gonna be that big. She is perfect! See.... |

| I don't know how much faith I'd put in that growth chart after seeing mine grow and reading from posters on here. Like their coloring, not always, but lots of times it's a toss up

| You can never really tell the true weight a Yorkie will be. Some are big & some are small. But they all have lots of love.

| I appreciate your input and no matter what he weighs, he is my little baby.If I can't carry him ,well don't tell him but he is getting a Happy Trails Stroller for Christmas I got a health chart from the vet yesterday and it looks like bookkeeping to me so I let the lady fill it in at the vets office We go the 29th to get his microchip put in,I will feel a lot better after it is done even though he is never out of my sight. If I do have to leave for a bit he goes in his crate and sleeps until I get back, then look out because he is into everything just to show me he does not care to be left!!! I have had many animals in my 64 yrs but nothing like this little guy,I love him so much and hate to be apart from him for even a very short while.Yorkies really DO rule ,don't they

| Joey weighed 4.4lbs at 12 weeks. Now, at 5 months, I have no idea what he weighs. At first I was disappointed that he wasn't going to be smaller, but as time has passed, I find more and more reasons why I'm glad that he's bigger! Yes, they really do steal your heart! |
