Help me name my new tiny Yorkie girl Hi everyone. We just picked up our third Yorkie yesterday, an adorable, sweet little 7 month old girl (2 1/2 lbs) from a breeder in Argentina. She has a very sweet disposition and is friendly and loving. Her head is covered with platinum blonde hair - very striking! She came with the name "Faia" but my breeder who got her from a friend of hers who breeds in Argentina, hasn't been using that name and tells me it's fine to change the name, although we haven't decided whether to keep it or change it yet. We have two other Yorkies: Bomber, our 10 lb Yorkie boy and Roxie, our 4 pound girl. We are wondering if we should go with a Hispanic/Argentinian name or some other name that suits her personality. Currently - here's our list of possibilities - but would love to hear suggestions from all of you other there as well. Blanca Chloe Faia Maya Jazzy Pia Emma Lola (this was actually my mother's name so I am conflicted but love the name) Lily (for Lilliput) Thanks for your help! Leslie |

It's pronounced FY- YA - rhymes with Maya.... |
I like Chloe, Emma, Lola and Lily. |
I like Emma; or Emme (pronounced emmy) :) |
I like Chloe and Jazzy |
Muzzle Blast, Gunner, Stephanie, Maggie's Drawers, Carla |
Holly cow, she is a tiny yorkie!!! She sounds very striking, I'm dying to see pictures!!! I think your other two babies have very strong names so she needs a name to match them. I'm liking Jazzy from your list. Boomer, Roxie and Jazzy To me it sounds like it goes together so cute! :D Congratulations, please share some pictures! |
I like Chloe or Lola. Congratulations on your new addition!! |
I like Jazzy. I thought of Luz. I have a coworker with that name and think it is pretty. |
Congratulations on your new "baby". I am sure what ever name you choose will be perfect! Can hardly wait to see photos of your new baby! |
I like Chloe. Like Gennies pointed out, though, I also think Jazzy goes well with the names of your other pets. Luz is cute too. |
Jazzy does go well with Roxie. I have a 7 month old tiny (2.4) girl too, as well as, a 10 pound boy and a 6 pound girl.....you will have lots of fun with your group!:D |
Since she is from Argentina, I would go with "Tango" |
Congrats on your new baby! I like Jazzy, Lola & Faia. ;) Have fun with picking a name for her! |
How about "Pequeñito" means itty bitty, tiny, pint-sized in Spanish. Or you could use the word for little bit "poquito." Faia is actually Portuguese for beech tree. "Pequeno" is Portuguese for little. Another source of names is the Female Yorkie Name List i the Library http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...es-female.html Of the names you listed, I like Chloe, Jazz, and Emma best. |
Where am I missing it...I don't see the picture of her? |
Thanks, everyone! I just got her yesterday. Need to take some pictures. Keep the names coming! :) |
I like Tango too. |
Congrats on your new addition, she's a cutie!! I like Tango also, but usually like to see the personality of the dog for a few days to see which name really fits..... good luck have fun!! |
Finally got a picture of her - but how the heck do I post it?????? |
Congratulations! I think that Lily is a very pretty name for a little girl. |
I like the name Jazzy; like others have said, it goes well with your other Yorkies names. |

1 Attachment(s) Trying to upload her picture - hope this works! Turns out her name is Fallie - not Faia. Leaning towards Lola now - but love Jazzy. Problem is I had a wonderful, sweet Yorkie name Jasmine that we called Jazzy who we lost about 5 years ago and not sure if we want to repeat the name. We still miss her - she was such a great doggy. |
Oh, what a cute face! Lola is a nice name too. I also like Ruby, Violet, and Orchid. |
All the names you listed, I really like Lola and Emma. Faia is cute too!! Congratulations on your new baby girl!! |
Off the list.....I just love the name Willow. |
Congratulations on your little one, well she's a doll so I would call her Dolly. |
I like Lily! |
