found yorkie I received word of some folks are trying to sell a Yorkie in our area. Supposedly the baby was not micro-chipped. My neighbor said they were originally asking $300 but are now willing to take only $100. With some of the missing dogs on here I am wondering what to do. This baby needs to find his/her momma. And I worry they are going to sell the baby just to make some money and then it'll never be "home". I am thinking of going to buy it just so someone is thinking of the rightful owner instead of a profit! I wish I had the right answer  Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |

How terrible. If they found the yorkie and have not tried to find the owner can you not report them for selling it on? Aint that like stealing? xxx |

It's Texas... anyone familiar with Texas laws to know if there is anything legal I can do? Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |

For a $100 i would buy it from them and look for the owners, if you are not able to keep it yourself then at least you can make sure the pup gets to a good home. When someone purchases a pup for $100 they dont have the $ anyhow to afford to keep one and it will wind up with the wrong kind of family if you dont interfere . |
|
I would pretend to want to buy it..but you first need vet records and you want to speak with the vet. I'd be suspicious if they denied you those. If they do let you speak to the vet...ask how long the dog has been going to him/her. |

That's horrible~I would probably give them the $100 and hope for Karma to come back to them :( |

OK, she is now asking more money. I am going with what I can get and.... gotta run fast... PRAY PLEASE!!! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |

would it be possible to get a picture of the yorkie? maybe to show you aunt who is on holiday atm but has been wanting a yorkie for ages?!? then you could post the pic here and forward to ppl with lost yorkie ads in your area who has lost their baby could see if its theirs? it would be amazing if you could help reunite this baby with its momma/pappa! |

We are back and I am heading in to give the furbaby a much needed bath while my kids make up FOUND YORKIE signs. For now, anyone in the Houston area who can help spread the word to folks is much appreciated! Keeping details posted minimum while looking for owner but will say it is the Tomball/Magnolia/The Woodlands Texas area). Thanks for continued prayers for this baby! Bless you for rescuing him. I posted on your other thread. I am in Sugar Land but would be willing to help if possible. Have you check Criags list or driven around for signs? Called the vets in the area?? When i lost Princess i contacted all those and the lost pet sites. The signs that i put out is what was seen and i was reunited with my little girl. I know the heartache this family must be going through. It isn't something i would wish on anyone. I am glad you got him from that other family that was going to sell him. Please let me know if i can help in any way. Good luck!! |

I believe this is true for all states. Since an animal is considered to be property, you have to run an add in the newspaper. Most all papers will run found adds for free. I believe the time you must run the add is different from city to city. I would call your local shelter and give the dogs info and ask them what the laws are in your area. Most people who lose a dog look in the lost & found section in the newspaper and check the local shelters. I hope you can find this babies owner as they must be heart broken. Also when you call the paper to run the found add, ask them to go back a couple of weeks to see if anyone had run an add for a lost yorkie. I have found many owners this way. |

Thank you for all the advice and support. This unfortuantely is extremely tense time period in our home as our foster baby is not getting along well with Maddie. Or truly the foster puppy just wants to play but Maddie is horrified. There are so many posts/posters on YT so you probably do not recall but Maddie was being rehomed in December of last year. My husband and I were in early discussions of getting another Yorkie when he heard through a freind of a friend of a cousin (you know the story) about a Yorkie needing a home. When I went to visit her, she was in such a bad situation that I knew I would not walk out of that house without her! She is quite small and they had an Akita who was basically using her as a real life toy. :( With the wonderful advise of YT family, and lots and lots of patience, it took us several months and lots of tears but she is no longer frightened all the time...she even shocked us by sitting with my son when he was home on military leave in September!. You have no idea what a big step that was for us!. Anyway, she is still extremely timid so we go out of our way to try to make sure she feels safe while still trying to bring in new experiences for her to grow stronger! So, along came "Chester" yesterday...Our new friend is just wanting to play with her... (side note: despite his nickname Monkey our other Yorkie is a little bit of a Yorkie snob and really only plays with us or himself. Occasionally he and Maddie will play together but not very often. They kind of co-exist even when snuggling on the the same lap! So back to our new foster little boy, he is so sweet truly. and he has taken quite a liking to my daughter. Thank heavens because since he jumped at Maddie, I am having to keep him and Maddie completely separated as she reverted back to shaking whenever he is playing in the same room. Well, this post has gone long enough. I guess I am just really asking that everyone pray for us to find "Chester\'s" true home and if you wouldn\'t mind adding a prayer of peace and understanding for my husband and I, I would greatly appreciate it. He has a legitimate complaint as we agreed no other furbabies in the house a I broke that rule. However this is a different scenario and only temporary -- although he is fearing it will become permanent. Thanks everyone! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: and fosterbaby Chester too!!! :D |

Poor Maddie- dogs really do have a difficult time of trusting other dogs and people when they\'re treated terribly as young pups. It\'s also very difficult to keep an agreement such as you made when it comes to dogs like Chester who need help finding where they belong. I do pray that you find his family soon and that everyone and every pup comes out better on the other side of this ordeal. |
