Making a doggie wardrobe! I am going to make Poppy a little wardrobe for all of her clothes. I have searched the proper wardrobes you can get for dogs online but they are VERY expensive. :thumbdown So I have decided I will make my own :p I actually think its better that way because then I can paint and decorate it in exactly the style I want. I searched Ebay last night but most were 'pick up only' and the seller lived too far away :( So I am going to visit a couple of second hand furniture stores at the weekend. Have you made one of these before? Im so excited!:D If you HAVE made one of these for you babies in the past can I please see some photos for inspiration? Thank you :aimeeyork |
I wouldn't even know where to start with one, lol. But keep us posted, maybe you can make up some "how-to" steps for all of us :D |
Im not making it from scratch LOL Im not that smart! Although I did see an old thread about this topic where a girl made one from scratch  too complicated for me :o , if I tried to make it chances are it would fall down LOL. :D Im going to see if I can get a small cupboard from a used furniture store or something, then attach a rail to hang the clothes on and decorate it. I will for sure be posting before and after pictures! I just want to see a few pictures of other peoples work so I can get some ideas. ;) |
Check out this thread. It has inspried me to try something like it. However I have 4 dogs so I am going to have to do it on a little larger scale. :-) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ie-closet.html |

Im excited to get the paints out and put my creative hat on! hehe. |
Hmmm...come to think of it, I have an old bedroom set (looks like it belongs in a kids room) maybe I'll have to do something with it to make it worth keeping instead of junking it... |

Post pictures if you decide to do it! |
There have been some made by other YTers or their spouses in the past. I would suggest doing using the search feature on here and looking for armoires or doggie closets, etc. That should bring you some pics! Also, have you tried to google some? You can get ideas that way. Good luck to you and I want to see the finished product. I'll bet it'll be cute.:) |

I did a YT search and found a couple of old threads on the subject. There were a few pictures of closets/wardrobes that other members have made and they look great! Im so excited just looking at them LOL. |

Im simply fit to burst with excitement at the moment!! :D Its quite sad really lmao. |
What a cool idea! My husband might kill me if I made the fur babies one, but right now they have a full (huge) drawer in the nursery, and soon the skin baby will be moving in. :) My suggestion would be to go to a Millworks-type store with unfinished furniture. I bet you could find something that you could adapt to fit your needs. Post pictures when you make it!! |
Have you tried looking at the wardrobes they make for doll clothes? |

I can't wait to see how it turns out. Right now, I keep everything in a rubbermaid container- but my babies deserve something a little nicer. |

Oh - and did you see this thread? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ie-closet.html |
I have a little nightstand from Ikea that I was using as a sidetable, but no longer have room for it where it was. Soooo... I use it for doggy clothing storage! :) It's just a simple 2-drawer nighstand, but I can fold Rhia's clothes in it perfectly. |
I know what you mean, all those wardrobes are so expensive! I made one by using stackable furniture from Target. Much like the picture Ladymom posted in this old thread. I got the idea from her. I just used a small shower curtain rod for the bar to hangup clothes. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-clothing.html |

Bought some cute hooks which I am going to put on the inside of the doors and hang her lead and collars from. VERY excited now :D Going to look in second hand furniture stores tomorrow! |
Target makes a wardrobe closet for 18 inch dolls which is perfect for dog clothes |
