I am posting this for a friend of mine that just lost her yorkie in a freak accident and is now so lonely. My friend and her husband took a vacation that included their little man Studdly. They had to purchase a soft sided kennel (Shirpa)to fly with. While left alone in the motel room Studdly dug a hole through the mesh of the bag and got his head stuck and strangled himself. He was 8 years old, never acted out and never did anything like this before. He was a well traveled yorkie so this was DEVISTATING for the couple. They have such a huge hole in their life now and need to find another one to fill the void. My friend went to clean her car this weekend and broke down while cleaninging the windows because she was cleaning Studdly's nose prints off of the window. My heart breaks for them. They are located in Ames Iowa and would be willing to travel a reasonably distance to pick up their new friend. They would really like to find an adult in good health that loves to travel and walk as they are a young retired couple. I can not stress enough how much they loved their Studdly. The new dog would sleep with them, have a huge wardobe and travel everywhere they go. They have a trip arranged in Jan for Florida to a upscale dog pampered resort that they booked especially for Studdly. Their goal is to have another buddy to go with by that time. If you know of anyone that can not keep their dog or know of a rescue please forward the info to Holly at TEAREADER@HOTMAIL.COM. Thank you Candi

Just wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's little dog. I hope they are able to find one and that it helps with their heartache. I can't think of anyone right off bat, I'm not that far from Ames myself. Not alot of Yorkie breeders in this area that I know have anything available now or soon. ![]() Good luck, hope everything works out for you. Beth and Taylor

I am so sorry to hear about your friends' poor little one. ![]() Hopefully you will be able to get some good recommendations for them here. Unfortunately, I don't have any help in that area for you, however, I would like to offer up a piece of advice. Whilst YT is a great place to get information on potential breeders, please remember that to make an informed decision, ANY breeder considered needs to be researched thoroughly. (As I'm sure both you and your friends alredy know.) Keep in mind that being a member of YT does not mean one is an ethical breeder. There are loads of fabulous breeders here, but also some that are....questionable. Be cautious of anyone that contacts you privately with offers of pups for sale. That happens many times 'behind the scenes' in an effort for shady breeding practices to not be brought to everyone's attention on the open forum. So please, please, PLEASE be extra careful. Good luck to you and your friends during their search.
