Solid Gold, I called a lady who had listed puppies and she offered me a 5 year old male that is not of any use to her because of his color ?/ She said he is not a good stud dog, soley a "pet" ...But I've never heard of a gold/blonde ??? I'm also new at this......... :)

The standard for the Yorkshire Terrier is gold and steel blue. The gold is on the head, ears. legs and belly. The steel blue covers the back and tail to the ground.

i think we are finding that many yorkie fanciers are intrigued with and like other colors. standard is standard. i stand firm behind it in a conformation situation. but i do find myself loving the diff colors of yorkies lately. i am a 10 yr veteran/breeder of this beloved little breed. please dont under estimate me because i like different things.... :rollingey

i am totally in love with biewer yorkies. they are gorgeous! :wub:

I've seen some pictures of gold yorkies in for sale ads before and they are very pretty! I'm sorry I don't have a picture for you though! Even though their coat isn't considered standard they are still very cute! For ex Harleys mum is totally silver and is really, really pretty! Even if she isn't show worthy or anything!

Ok ok! I just figured it out for myself.. But is it a yorkie breed? It seems to me that they are a seperate breed.. Or is it just like w/ the gold yorkie.. only the colors are different..

i am NO expert on biewers. i am just an admirer! and a hopeful future mom to one, well maybe two. they are the same as a yorkie from my understanding. they carry a pie bald gene that makes their coat tri colored. SO BEAUTIFUL
the standard for them calls for their tails to be kept long and I LOVE THAT!
please ask whispers mom, yorkierose or snow yorkies for more info. i am not the one to ask of these questions.

Yes, they are a breed of their own... :p Under the Germany registries they are listed as Biewer Yorkshire Terriers. I Show mine with the IABCA here in the US under Rare Breeds.

OHHH!! They are sooo beautiful! They remind me of a Yorkie-s**t zu cross! Because they have the cute body of a yorkie and the tri-colors of a s**t zu! Snow Yorkies your little girl is just too perfect!

Actually, a "blue born" has health problems, but chocolates, golds, and parti color Yorkies carry the same health risks as standards from what I have learned.

They will range in size just like the regular yorkies. Biewers can be as small as 3 pounds and as large as 15 pounds....

I have a gold and white Parti-colored yorkie...my Princess Chai. She came from Black and tan parents but they carry the recessive genes for the other color. You have to remember that yorkies are a deriviative of a lot of different colored terriers and the maltese so there are other colors in the background. It is not true that these are genetic defects and they have more health issues. It is unfortunate that breeders used to kill htese pups just for being the wrong color. The tri-colors, chocolates and partis are beautiful.

This is one of the reasons that I am not entirely in agreement with the "breed standard". These so-called "off color" dogs are gorgeous, sweet and healthy and deserve a long and happy life.

Chai has 4 white feet and white on her chest and striated through her coat. I like her uniqueness.

I'm glad what I read wasn't true! You're right about the color issue.. I can't believe someone would kill a a puppy just bc it's colors don't meet standards! That's terrible! And oh my your girl is so beautiful!

These are your babies?? They are soo precious! I have never seen colors like these on yorkies before. They look like little red heads! So sweet! :D

Some people in the past of criticized me when I told them that Harleys mom is totally silver but that's what she looks like! They say it's not breed standard but that doesn't mean she's not a yorkie and not a great pet! :D
