When I first brought Maddie home she used to nip and bite at me. Someone told me to make a "yelping" noise - sound like another pup. They said it mimicks the behavior in a litter when the pups get a little rough. Whatever the reason - it worked quickly. Good Luck!! |
Dollar bites my toes when i am trying to get ready and my hands at night and it hurts so bad!!!! |
Yes, by all means, I would put her in the crate for a minute or so everytime she bites you. You don't want a dog that bites period! You are not being mean, and we just have to be their mother at times. And, unfortunately, that means the disciplinarian! Mine still bites my toes whenever i walk without my shoes on. As soon as I yell "Don't do that" she stops. Of course, my birds will then start uop with " Don't you do that" Ha! Good luck1 Pat |
Is nipping/biting a common problem with puppies? |
Oh Yes! I would say so. I never had a puppy that never nipped a bit and tried biting. Must be bred in them. But, seeing as they are no longer in the wild and need to protect themselves and get their own food, we must teach them good manners! HA! At least that is my idea of it1 |
