You guys are bad influence!!!

I've been reading the posts everyday for a week now and already have a huge list of stuff i REALLY NEED to get for my babies!! Bag, treats, food, bed, toys, bows, shoes you name it!! LOL and is not that I don't have stuff, I do, you guys just made me feel that not quite enough! LOL

Now excuse me I need to shop for a certain super cute bed and need to focus on picking my fabric... LOL

JMuedog 09-28-2010 08:45 PM

lol... just wait... after you get all the great things you see on YT then you'll need to have photo shoots to show everyone your stuff... and then you'll have to have another yorkie and then matching stuff for all the yorkies.... and then.... ;p

boopster 09-28-2010 08:48 PM

I agree with you. I've had dogs before, but I never realized how deprived they were until I joined this group!

2Morkies 09-28-2010 08:54 PM

Don't forget the "Doggy Car Seat" and
Gucci Dog Purse!!!!!"

Don't joke. The car seat is actually pretty functional. I'd like to see you try to back into a spot while having an anxious/excited yorkie pacing on your lap. Kaji's carseat was a great investment in my eyes.

Now... his wardrobe on the other hand is more for me than it is for him. I LOVE dressing him up and he doesn't seem to care either way. When it's cold, he'll dance with joy if I bring out a sweater. :D

Mom to Hot Rod 09-28-2010 10:49 PM

hmmm, let's see, t-shirts, tank tops, dresses, collars, harness--es, leashes, bandanas, carseat, stroller, lifejackets, bully sticks, sweaters, coats, toys, blankies, beds, hair bows, grooming products, combs, bowls, treats, ....hmmm, am I missing anything?

Notice...all things are plural. :D:p

lol, hubby says that the dogs have more clothes than he does!

Bicycle trailer to give them rides in! and Helmets. Agility set to practice at home. and keep them busy and well trained. Motorcycle sidecar.

Deuce 09-29-2010 04:47 AM

Lol, tell me about it...I think I've spent more than 4x the ammount of Rizzo in "stuff", and I'm always seeing new things that members are posting on here and think "That would be cool to have..." Thank God I'm not married, I'd always be in trouble :D

Rhetts_mama 09-29-2010 04:49 AM

You know how they say the dog is the cheapest part of the deal... Now you know why. I spend a heck of a lot more on shampoo and conditioner for the dogs than I do on mine. And lets not even mention the cost of their haircuts versus mine :)

Pixie Girl 09-29-2010 04:54 AM

:yelrotflm:eyetearssAll of you are making me laugh this morning....But I do have to agree we do buy alot of stuff for our furbabies.

Grooming table, crate, special water bowl. Also stills are not enough, you need a video camera to record their cute antics.

If you hike, yorkie backpack. If you camp, a nice covered ex pen.

It still feels like something's missing.

Bentleys Momma 09-29-2010 06:17 AM

This is so true and you can't go cheap on shampoo/conditions with their delicate skin and their precious hair.

In general, my husband and I have taken up the military motto of "Don't ask; don't tell". It has saved our marriage! If hubby ever threw out the "it's me or the dog", I would be more than happy to go out and buy him a very nice set of luggage.

furbutt 09-29-2010 06:21 AM

LOL this is sooo true, I have spent double the amount i spent on getting Poppy on clothes and treats, food, beds, xpens etc. Its amazing lol xxx

pookiebear 09-29-2010 06:21 AM

Heck, this site it why I have 4 dogs! I saw how everyone was having so much fun with "packs" of yorkies running around, and I wanted to be like everyone else!!!!!

LOL!

joann1166 09-29-2010 06:22 AM

LOL...I have spent alot since I have joined here and gotten Natalie. Charlie only has 5 different collars to choose from, t-shirts, coats and I have spend a ton of money on Natalie this last month on clothes, shampoos, harnesses, bows, brushes, treats... My son says the dogs get more than he does...lol

cally930 09-29-2010 06:30 AM

OMG - how true!!! Ever since I joined this site, I have changed their food and shampoos and conditioners, have purchased a great Kwigy Bo bag for them and have bought clothes - which I have never done before. Shoes???? I don't think so - but you never know.

mives 09-29-2010 06:52 AM

I agree 100%! I'm so glad I joined this site! You guys have given me so many ideas and recommendations that my list for Roxy is HUGE!! My goal is to get her car seat and stroller next!

joann1166 09-29-2010 07:53 AM

I told my son the other day i was going to get Charlie and Nat a car seat and he rolled his eyes and was like they are so spoiled. I looked at him and said "You aren't?"

MellyBelly Mom 09-29-2010 08:34 AM

Jeez!!!

You guys a really crazy!! LOL In a good and fun way of course! I'm loving it!

Since last week when I became more active here:

- I changed her food
- Bought her a carrier (beautiful see my review with pics in the review area) and treats
- Bought some beautiful bows (waiting to receive them)
- I'm working on ordering a new bed
- Decided that her place to sleep is with us in bed (it was up to dicsussion, but not anymore LOL)
- I'm already preparing DH for the possibility of adding a 3rd one (the 2nd is not even home yet) so we have a nice pack

I now need to re-evaluate all my items to make sure my furbaby won't feel embarrased about not having the HOT items when going to the yorkie meetups or to the dog's park and daycare LOL

We do have a snooze backpack that has also rollers and work as a carrier for long plane trips and as her hiking backpack. I will post pics later.

I also want to buy a little plastic swimming pool... But she doesn't like taking a bath, will she like to swim??

Now all because of YT, she needs shoes, a rain jacket, a new harness, a new leash, new bowls, new toys, pj's and a car seat (she has a car harness). Multiply it all by two since my youngest is about to come home soon...I still refuse the idea of a stroller, but you never know!!

lol, just tell him that once you get the 2nd one, you'll have everything you need for the 3rd so it won't be as expensive. :D

It might be different being in the pool, but at least it is something that you 2 can do together and it will tire her out. :)

Once you get the 2nd, a stroller will come in so handy. It is so much easier to take them places with you. Even at the dog park, it is nice for them to have a place to escape to when all the dogs are totally nuts. ;)

I'm not helping, am I? sorry, lol

Bentleys Momma 09-29-2010 09:08 AM

This doesn't even cover the things that we do. Besides the ones that some other dog owners do such as brushing teeth, ear and eye care... how many other pet owners do you know that wipes their dogs hiney after every poo poo. And before we got Monkey upset tummy under control, I would sit with him while he had bouts of constipation trying to "talk him through it".

If you'd talked to me doing these things before YT, I would have though y'all were insane. Not I am just an "in the closet" yorkie bottom wiper. mmmm... Wait, if I post this does that mean I have come out of the closet????

:)

Oh gosh. This site has been terrible for me! LOL. Jackson is soooo spoiled.

He's got multiple harnesses- probably 7 or 8. Don't even get on me for my collar obsession! He's got one for Halloween, one for Christmas, and a bunch in between. A ton of bandanas, pretty much one for every holiday. At least one shirt per holiday. Treats are endless, he's always getting new treats whether it be bully sticks, food, etc. He eats a good kibble and gets wet food every night for dinner mixed in, and gets raw food a few times weekly. Ugh, the list could go on and on. Not even including the money I spend for training stuff ($165 for 8 weeks of agility, $25 for weave poles, $18 for a tire jump, books to learn tricks, etc), oh and the $40 I spend yearly (which is totally worth it) for the dog park.

:DI think so. I'm more the s&c kind of gal. I have more shampoos, conditioners, sprays, gels, brushes and combs than I can shake a stick at .
Next is the swimming gear, and of course you have to get the water toys, and the hiking and camping stuff. I have a collapseable plastic bucket that I take camping, for bathing him.

He has only two harnessess, three collars, and four leads. That his walking stuff. I'm looking at another harness, maybe a hardy denim material. In a size larger, because last year I bought a beautiful winter coat for him, and if won't fit under his two harnessess he has. Sigh.

Yes and I did forget the agility equipment. I still have some more to get. :)

jacquelinebabco 09-29-2010 09:47 AM

I have all of the above plus 4 fur kids (still looking for the 5th one) and a fenced in yard that was over 3 grand!!

MellyBelly Mom 09-29-2010 09:59 AM

I DO wipe her little butt and brush her teeth (she hates both and gets very offended and stops "talking" to me for a while). My mother in law thinks I'm crazy! Every time she calls she asks DH: is she still brushing the dog's teeth? LOL She loves Melanie thou and when we go to Germany we HAVE take her even thou she was being potty trained during her first visit and pooped in their most expensive persian rug... My father in law was so in love with her that thought it was funny that she picked the fancier rug to do her business and started saying she has good "taste" and calling her fancy girl...

It's unbelievable what these little ones can get away with!!

I've had the crappiest past 2 days and for some reason this post made me smile. It's true. At work I got a funny look from a lady because Kaji is an inside dog. She exclaimed, "Ok, that's automatically a dirty house in my book!" Umm..... he's probably cleaner than your kids lady. I clean his peeper after every pee and his paws. If I'm not happy with how clean I got him, I go ahead and wash his peeper and paws. I always check his bottom. AND, I like to freshen him up between baths with the S&S Sheen spray. He always smells like a million bucks and my house doesn't smell like I could possibly have a dog living here. Heck, I fool the Manager of the building everyday and her picky boyfriend. I must be doing something right. :D

susanandsteven 09-30-2010 12:15 AM

Lets see we got Sunshine a car to go camping .
Daughter asked are we getting Summer a car too, daughter is 17 and still does not drive .
